Joint Sec. General of BNM has martyred by Pakistani intelligence agencies

Rasool Bux Mengal Joint Secretary General of Baloch national Movement (BNM) had kidnapped by Pakistani intelligence agency from UTHAL before a week ago when he was back to his home in Khuzdar after visiting his lands and forms in Sindh.

Today morning his dead body was found in Bela in front of a hotel. He was a radical political leader; he left his govt job of a bank in 1997 and started organizing the Baloch Nation in a proper manner. He struggled for the freedom of Baloch nation politically and democratically. He organized the radical workers of BNM in Khuzdar and arranged many programs like workshops, public gatherings, lecture programs and demonstrations. He was one of the good friends of late chairman BNM waja Ghulam Mohammad (Also martyred by Pakistani Forces previous months).

Today there was complete shutter down strike in Khuzdar and violence from Baloch people. His funeral will be held at today at Salehabad and will be buried with the flag of free Balochistan.The international Human rights organization should take action against the 5th genocide of Baloch people.

The Baloch Insurgency

From the very existence of Pakistan, Balochistan has been ignored and treated as a foster child. This was the attitude of the previous British rulers, and it is the same adopted by our present masters who are in no way different from the previous rulers. The last ruler of the Kalat state, Khan Ahmedyar Khan, was militarily attacked because he wanted to utilise his right of option according to the state’s agreement with the British government at the time of partition whereby a choice was given to the princely states of undivided India either to join India or Pakistan or be independent. The Khan of Kalat chose to be independent. Almost half of his state was forcefully plucked away from him, and a new state of Makran was carved out of it, with a Gichki sardar elevated to a state ruler. Legally, technically and constitutionally he was within his right to choose the option.

As far as Pakistan was concerned, it was quite understandable that after the creation of Pakistan it would not have been in their interest to have an independent state of Kalat in Balochistan within the overall boundaries of Pakistan; but was violence the right way to solve the problem? Could reason, negotiation and diplomacy not be used? Dissatisfaction has reached a level that today the youth are so agitated that they do not even allow the national anthem to be sung in schools.

Insensitive violence and injustice were perpetrated on the people of East Pakistan in the past, and the result was that we lost half of the country due to our government’s heedless and incautious adventures. Do we intend to repeat that history with another province? It is not the Baloch who seek to be the secessionists; it is the inequitable, unjust, improper and rash actions of the government authorities against them that have reluctantly made them to ponder in this direction. All that the Baloch want is justice. They want all their kidnapped men and women to be expeditiously recovered. They want all their political prisoners against whom no cases are pending to be released. They want fair and reasonable control over their mineral and sea resources. They want infrastructure to be constructed all over the province to be able to invite foreign investment to develop their resources and provide jobs for them. They want the armed forces to be withdrawn from Sui and other areas of Balochistan. They want that all the major projects that are initiated or planned for the near future should be done so with their consultation. And they want a due share in all provincial and federal government jobs. Who then is being unreasonable? The Baloch or the government/state?

HRCP for freedom of expression in Balochistan

HE Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Friday urged the government to respect press freedom in Balochistan.

A statement issued by the HRCP said: “The Commission is alarmed at reports of Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel laying siege to Quetta offices of at least two newspapers. On August 18, Urdu daily Asaap announced suspension of its publication after security forces cordoned of its Quetta office for two weeks and all visitors and employees were frisked, questioned and humiliated.

FC personnel have now been deployed outside the offices of Urdu daily Aazdi and nobody is allowed in without submitting to a search and questioning.

Journalists in Balochistan face numerous security threats and this makes their work even harder.

Even prior to security forces’ clampdown, these newspapers were being victimised and Asaap - one of the widely-circulated Urdu newspaper in Balochistan - had been denied government advertisements for a number of years.

ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION ON BALOCH ANCESTRAL LAND

Baloch was peacefully protesting against the illegal construction,so police and rangers fired tear gas & opened fire on protesters,reported 5 persons killed numbers of facing major injuries.Sindh provincial government,city government,electronic media and print media all turned blind on such a issue.

We Baloch as a nation requesting to all human right organisations,print media,electronic media to take an immediate action against the killing of 5 human lives and illegal construction on Baloch ancestral land.

Strike across Balochistan on Bugti’s death anniversary

QUETTA: A shutter down and wheel jam strike is being observed in many parts of Balochistan on the third death anniversary of late Baloch politician Nawab Abkar Khan Bugti. The call for the strike had been given by Baloch nationalist parties.

Sources say the strike is being observed in Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Kharan, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, Sibi, Sui and many other towns and cities of the province. All the main shopping malls, markets and trading centres are closed in these cities and towns while traffic is also nominal.

Baloch nationalist parties are also observing the day as black day. They have hoisted black flags at their offices and houses to condemn the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Security has been beefed up on this occasion across the province to avert any untoward incident. In the provincial capital about 5000 officials of police, Balochistan Constabulary and Anti Terrorist Force besides a large number of Frontier Corps personnel have been deployed.

Quetta and other parts of the province also witnessed several incidents of violence on Tuesday evening in connection with Nawab Bugti’s death in which at least two persons were killed and over a dozen were wounded. —DawnNews

3rd Martyrdom anniversary of Nawab Bugti: Memorial meeting in London

London: Baloch Human Rights Council (UK) and World Sindhi Congress are organising a memorial meeting to honour the great Baloch hero Nawab Akbar Bugti on the third anniversary of his murder by Pakistani Army on 26th August, 2006.
