Dr Deen Mohammad Baloch of BNM abducted by Pakistani intelligence agencies

Ornach: RHC hospital’s medical officer and a member Central committee Baloch National Movement Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch has been abducted on 29-06-2009 from Ornach hospital. Source said that Dr Deen Mohammad Baloch and one of his servants were asleep at his resident when the Pakistani secret services jumped the wall of his house. His servant has been severely beaten up, tied up and locked in a room. After making sure that his servant cannot harm them the perpetrators enter Dr Deen Mohammad’s room. Reports suggest that he resisted against his arrest for half an hour but was eventually arrested, tied up and driven to an unknown location. The Pakistani perpetrators were armed and in plain clothes.

BNM and other like minded parties strongly condemn the illegal abduction of Dr Baluch. Angry mobs blocked the National highway at Ornach cross and stoned the Ornach police station. The Baloch National Movement organised a demonstration here on Monday in protest against the arrest of their executive committee member Dr Din Mohammad Baloch. Addressing the protesters, Rasool Bakhsh Baloch and Asif Baloch accused intelligence personnel for kidnapping Dr Din Mohammad from a hospital in Naal of Khuzdar district on Sunday night. They appealed to international human rights organisations to take notice of atrocities against the Baloch people.

BNM and BNF leaders however vowed to continue the struggle against oppressors. They said that Baloch National Liberation struggle cannot be weaken by the abduction and extra judicial killings of Baloch political leaders and activists. They strongly criticised the International Human Rights organisation, the UN and the international community for not taking notice of the human rights violations in Balochistan. They said that Pakistan and Iran are carrying out genocide of Baloch people through different ways but the international community is playing the role of silent spectator.

On the other hand Baloch Student Organisation (azaad) in a statement issued on their website www.sagaar.org has strongly condemned the abduction of Dr Deen Mohammad Baloch by the Pakistani intelligence agencies. Baloch Students Organization (Azad) urged all human rights organization and United Nations to take urgent notice of the abduction of Senior Vice Chairman of BSO (A) Mr. Zakir Majeed Baloch, Mushtaq Baloch, Moname Baloch, BRP leaders Jalil Reki, Chakar Qambarani, Mujeeb Baloch, CC member BNM Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch and other thousand of Baloch who are missing since ages.

Baloch doctors have also protested in front of Khuzdar press club and strongly condemned the abduction of Dr Deen Mohammad Baloch. The doctors’ rally was led by Dr Mohammad Murad Mengal and Aziz Ahamd Baloch.

It is worth noting that the Pakistani intelligence agencies have stepped up the abduction of pro-independent Baloch political and student leaders and activists. They are abducting and killing Baloch activists not only in Balochistan but several BRP activists have been killed in Sindh as well, in the last couple of days. Most of the victims of Pakistani intelligence agencies are from pro-independent organisations like BSO (azaad), BRP, BNM and BNF.

Clouds of yet another military operation loom over Balochistan

Quetta: local sources and media reports from Balochistan suggest that Pakistani military is preparing for yet another military offensive in different regions in Balochistan. Baluchistan’s National news paper Daily Tawar reported that a large number of Pakistani FC has been deployed in Mand and started patrolling in the area. The According to Daily Tawar there is a sense of harassment among the residents. The FC has started the random stop and search policy in which is creating many difficulties for the residents especially women and children.

On the other hand BRp’s (Baloch Republican party) spokesman Mr. Sher Mohammad Bugti has said that there is no truth in the government of Baluchistan’s statements about the denial of military operation. He said that currently many member of his party are missing and recently the Pakistani security forces raided the house of Professor Naila Qadri, during the raid they misbehaved with respected Baloch women and children. Similarly BRP workers are being targeted by paid agents of ISI and the Pakistani intelligence agencies. Many member of BRP have been killed in Sindh in the last few days only.

He further stated that there was no difference between Musharraf and Zardari period of the governments. PPP is repeating the policies of Musharraf. He said it was the PPP era when we got the decomposed bodies of our leaders and activist, it was the PPP period when two Bugti Baloch were burnt alive in Dera Bugti. He reiterated that Baloch struggle for freedom will continue and Baloch national liberation struggle cannot be weaken by such heinous tactics of the government and their agents.

There are reports that FC has raided an area in New kahan (Marri camp) and arrested several people. The report further said that the Pakistani security persons have lowered the Baluchistan flag from Marri Jirga Hall (Where local elders would come together and hear the peoples’ problem and would settle the disputes - if any).

BSO Azaad’s website Sagaar.org has published the following report which also gives the indications of another possible military operation’s preparations in Balochistan.

"The civilized world should observe and take notice of the Baloch genocide and looting of Baloch resources, appealed the representatives of Kohlu Zone B.S.O. (Azad). They mentioned that in nearby areas of Baghao, rankni and Dera Bugti, preparations of a major army offensive are taking place. Another mass murder of innocent Baloch in these areas can be predicted by the major military movements in the area. They further said that these operations, mass murders and abductions of innocent Balochs cannot block the struggle for freedom as the Baloch Nation has now been totally aware and conscious and for the fight of survival and to save their identity Baloch are ready to sacrifice their lives as Shaheed Javed Akhter did, and we appeal the peace loving people in this world to come and witness by themselves the mass murder of Baloch and the looting of Baloch resources".

It may be notice that earlier the governor Balochistan Zulfiqar Magsi has rejected any possibility of military operation in Balochistan but the above reports suggest otherwise.

Strike paralyses life across Balochistan

QUETTA - A wheel-jam and shutterdown strike disturbed the normal life in different towns of Balochistan on Friday. The strike call was given by Baloch National Front (BNF) in connection with International Day against Violence, which was supported by Baloch Republican Party (BRP) and Anjuman-e-Ittehad-e-Marri.

The protesters blocked the highways connecting Quetta with Karachi and Sibi at various places along with the Quetta-Taftan Road at Nushki. The towns affected by the strike were Nushki, Dalbandin, Taftan, Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Turbat, Mund, Tump, Pasni, Punjgur, Gwadar, Hub and Mach.

In Quetta, the strike was partial and government offices, courts and banks functioned as usual while traffic was also seen plying on the roads. However, business activities were suspended on Sabzal Road, Sariab Road, Double Road, Jinnah Road, Brewery Road and Killi Ismail.Protesters pelted vehicles with stones and burnt tyres at Sariab, Sabzal, Brewery and Qambarani roads.Keeping in view the prevailing law and order situation, the administration had made strict security arrangements on the eve of strike. Police backed by other law enforcement agencies were deployed at different places in the City and mobile squads continued patrolling the roads.According to reports, protest rallies were also taken out in Hub, Punjgur, Turbat, Mand and some other towns.

Meanwhile, Baloch Student Organisation (BSO-Azad) in a statement claimed that police had arrested more than a dozen of its activists from different towns including Punjgur, Hub and Turbat. On the other hand, a large number of activists of Anjuman-e-Ittehad-e-Marri, Baloch National Front, Baloch Students Organisation, Baloch Women Panel and others took out a rally and held a public meeting at the compound of City District Government Quetta office in connection with the International Day against Violence. They were carrying placards and banners inscribed with demands such as “Stop Violence against Balochs” and “Release All Missing Persons”.

Addressing the gathering, Qadir Baloch, Mehar Jan Baloch, Mehlab Baloch and others regretted over the silence of the United Nations and other humanitarian organisations regarding the alleged atrocities and excesses of rulers on Baloch people. They alleged that thousands of Baloch people were abducted by intelligence agencies and they were facing worst persecution and violence in the torture cells. They said innocent Baloch people were being hanged in Iran without producing them before any court of law but champions of humanitarian organisations were taking no action against such atrocities. They demanded the UN and international organisations to play their role for stopping human rights violations in Balochistan.

A Baloch mother threatens to go on hunger strike till death if her son is not released

Quetta: The mother of Chakar Qambarani has threatened to sit on hunger strike till death if her son is not released within five days. Chakar Qambarani Baloch was abducted by the Pakistani intelligence agencies on 6 February 2009 and has been missing ever since. His family member, party colleagues and well-wishers have already started a token hunger strike earlier this month, today is the 17th day of their hunger strike. The hunger strike participants appealed to the international Human Rights Organisation, the EU and the UN to take notice of the Pakistani atrocities against the Baloch nation.

“The international community must put pressure on Pakistan to make sure the safe release of the missing Baluch because we fear that the missing Baluch might suffer the same fate as the martyred of Murghab (Turbat town in Balochistan). I want to remind those who call themselves the champions of human right but they are silent on the death and destruction of Baloch Nation.” said one participant of the strike.

Meanwhile Chakar Qambarani Baloch’s mother today came in public and addressed the newsmen at Quetta press club. She said that her son Chakar Qambarani Baloch and Dr Bashir Azeem Baloch were whisked away by the personal of Pakistani intelligence agencies on 6 February 2009. After one and a half month’s illegal imprisonment Dr Bashir Azeem was released but her son (Chakar) was still missing. She warned that if her son was not released within five days, she along with the sister and little daughter of Chakar Qambarani Baloch will sit on hunger strike till death. She said if anything happened to them during the hunger strike, the provincial governemnt of Balochistan and Pakistan’s federal government should be held responsible for that.

She said “we have tried all democratic ways and means of protests i.e. we took to streets, we informed the governor of Balochistan, we submitted appeals to Balochistan high court but nothing seems to work. Only those people can understand my pain and suffering whose loved ones are also missing. I appeal to all those mothers, sister and daughter whose loved ones have been separated from them, come and help me and together we can raise voice and make it possible for our sons and relatives to come back home safe”.

She said that her son did not commit any crimes and she did not know why he was still being held and possibly severely tortured. She appealed to the international Human Rights Bodies to take notice of the abduction of innocent Baloch by Pakistani intelligence agencies. She however questions those so called Baloch who are a working for Pakistan government that what if their loved one were missing? Don’t they love their children? Aren't they human being and don’t they have any feeling? She said today these Baloch are only excited for a seat or a post but they are forgetting that they will be answerable to their motherland someday.

She said the governor of Balochistan has told them that her son was in the custody of intelligence agencies but the intelligence agencies denied this in court. However it is obvious now that her son was in the custody of intelligence agencies of Pakistan because Shahzeb Baloch of BSO – Azaad who was released on 17 Jun from Loralia said that Chakar Qambari Baloch and other Baloch youth were with him in Army barracks in that place, where he was held in past several months.

BNP is a political party and it has not closed its doors for negotiations: Mengal

QUETTA - Balochistan National Party President Sardar Akhtar Mengal has said that his party would not be part of any negotiations with rulers without presence and guarantee of United Nations.

He expressed these views while addressing a Press conference here flanked with the central Secretary General of party Habib Jalib Advocate and other leaders of his party at his residence. “Baloch cannot be deceived any more in the name of committees and negotiations,” he added.

To a question, he said the BNP was a political party and it had not closed its doors for negotiations but as far as negotiations with the rulers of this country are concerned, his party will be ready provided that presence and guarantee of UN or its any organisation are there.

He said the Baloch had been deceived for last 60 years in the name of committees and negotiations. “Now they cannot be deceived in the name of committees,” he added.

Responding to yet another question, he said that his party wanted right of self- determination under UN charter. He said, “Baloch want that self- determination which is being demanded for Kashmiris by rulers of the country”.

He said that people in Balochistan were expecting a better change after general elections in 2008 but they could not realize this change.

“They felt a worst change during the tenure of incumbent government as compared to government of Pervez Musharraf,” he said, adding: “Number of check posts have been increased in Quetta city as compared to previous government”.

He said that workers of his party had fallen prey to incidents of target killings and the alleged involvement of secret agencies could not be ruled out.

Sardar Akhtar Mengal said that the national council session of his party would be held on June 28 and added that important decisions would be taken in this meeting regarding Balochistan.

Quetta: BSO azaad’s (Quetta) Shal zonal president Mr Shahzeb Baloch has been surfaced from Loralai town in Balochistan. his family went to pick from there and brought him back to his hometown in Panjgur. Shahzeb Baloch was abducted from Quetta on 26 March 2009 and was taken to an undisclosed location, which led to massive protests by the BSO (A) activists in Quetta city and elsewhere in Balochistan.

Explaining his abduction shahzeb Baloch was that he was abducted from Masjid road Quetta by the personal of intelligence agencies and taken to unknown location and has been released on by his capturers on 17 Jun 2009 in Loralia. He said has been physically tortured only on first day after that he was only mentally tortured by asking him strange questions repeatedly. He said that he was kept in a barrack, there were altogether five barracks in that place where has been held in last few months.

He said he has seen Chakar Qambarani Baloch, Fareed Baloch, Nazir Marri and a 19 year-old youth named Karam Marri was locked with him in barrack number four (4). He said that Karam Marri has been arrested 17 months ago and was now physically paralysed due to sever torture. He said on 6 May 2009 his capturers took him away saying that he will be released but I don’t whether he really has been released or has he been transferred to another place, because state agencies cannot be trusted. He said that he heard that other Baloch youth are being held there as well.

He said while in barrack his eyes were open but the rest of the time and during interrogation he was blindfolded, however he was always shackled and handcuffed even inside the barrack. He said that he would be taken to another place for interrogation; he would be blindfolded while being interrogated. He said that the interrogators were trying to link BSO (azaad) with Baloch Freedom Fighters because BSO (azaad) has been politically and morally supporting Baloch resistance movement forum at all forums. He said although he was blindfolded and could not see the interrogating officials but from their dialect they seemed Pathan (Peshawari) and Punjabis and they seemed pretty annoyed about the ongoing Baloch struggle for Freedom.

Shahzeb Baloch has been quoted as saying “My mother fell seriously ill after my abduction; I contacted my brothers as soon as I was released and they have come to take me my hometown Panjgur. I’m physically tired and having rest now. But soon I’ll be back to Quetta and continue my political activities”.

According to shahzeb Baloch he informed the capturers that his Law exams were due and if he missed the exams his whole year will be wasted but the capturers said “forget everything we have disappeared many Baloch and you will also suffer like them here”.

Widespread threat on arrest of a Baloch woman.

UK: June 12, 2009. (PCP) Several Baluch armed groups and tribal chiefs threatened to take action if Mrs Zari Naroee was not released from jail immediately. Mrs Naroee was arrested on 9. 6.09 but was released after the Baluch dignitaries intervened. She was arrested again two days later on 11th of June and was taken to the Intelligence Ministry's prison in Zahedan, the capital of Baluchistan. Her husband, Zabihollah Naroee was hanged on 30.5.09 .He was a cultural activist who had been arrested few months ago.

The angry Baluch tribal chiefs, armed groups and specifically Jondollah announced that the Baluch women have never been involved in political or military matters. This has been an established part of Baluch code of conduct and culture. The Baluch men have never insulted any woman from any background and from any colour, religion tribe or race. This is an accepted principle among the Baluch to honour the woman of their opponents and enemies. For the same reasons they have never allowed any governments or adversary to the insult, arrest, torture or hang any Baluch women.

The Islamic Republic of Iran violated this internationally accepted principle of human rights several times and each time they were encountered by the strong wrath and reaction of Baluch people. Every time the Islamic Republic of Iran retreated as a result of widespread actions by Baluch people. This time will not be different.

Some groups threatened that if Mrs Naroee is not released immediately no non-Baluch women will be safe in Baluchistan and the regime will be responsible for the consequences. The Baluch people believe that proportionate retaliation is permitted in their own culture and according to international law.

11 june "Shaheed Hameed Day"

Balochistany namdaren o sheer delen bachek Shaheed Hameed Baloch ky haiy beset o shashme sal roch 11 june 2009 a dark bot

SHAHEED HAMED BALOCH was born in the village of Kunchiti; district Kech (Turbat), Mukaran. He was a student at the Government Degree Collage Turbat now known as Attah Shad Degree Collage. He was a member of the Baloch Students Organization, and was arrested on 9 December 1979 on the charge of firing at a military officer from the Gulf state of Oman who was recruiting Pakistani mercenary soldiers from the Balochistan province. Even though the Omani officer was not hurt in the alleged incident, Special Military Court No. 4 charged and sentenced the 23 year old Baloch to death for killing another person, in spite of the fact that the military prosecutor was not able to establish the identity of this other person. On June 11, 1981 Shaheed Hameed Baloch was hanged to death in Mach jail. His body was flown in by an army helicopter to his native village Kunchiti, where his body was laid to rest.

Before going to the gallows Shaheed Hameed Baloch wrote his last will. Following is abstracted from his will.

Testament of Freedom

He who avenges himself
Says farewell to his beautiful wife
Has no longing for power or wealth

It does not worry me a bit if this will and testament of mine reaches the great people of the glorious Balochistan or not. As I write these words, there are armed guards all over the place, keeping a watchful eye on every move I make. I have only eight hours to live. Eight from now I shall be proudly walking to the gallows. I have no feeling of remorse, nor am I bothered by the thought that I should have lived longer rather than be dead soon, because to lead a life without any purpose or to live under the yoke of slavery, is a curse.

I am neither the first nor the only one to give his blood for Balochistan; hundreds of Baloch have laid down their lives for the fatherland. In my family alone I shall be the second person to kiss the hangman’s noose. And thus sacrifice my life for the great goal, which I am certain, the younger generations of Baloch shall ultimately achieve. The British executed one of my ancestors, Sheran Dad Karim, in 1902.

I would like to tell my friends that such a priceless boon like freedom cannot be won without the supreme sacrifice. I know of no precedent in history where nations have achieved freedom without rendering the supreme sacrifice. The path to freedom and independence is admittedly a difficult one. However, the goal awaiting us is truly magnificent. I feel happy and consoled to think that though independence may elude us from a long time to come – my little daughter Bibi Banadi who is now 3 years old may experience it in her life time – my grandchildren and those of my brother Beebagr’s will surely be blessed with it and that day will be the day when my soul will finally rest in peace and receive true comfort.

Can you, by severing the heads from the bodies,
Kill living thoughts and ideas?
Can you, by wrenching the flowers from the branches,
Stop their fragrance from spreading?

I am certain that every member of my family will take my execution with calmness and fortitude. I wish my mother were alive today, for, she must have sung this lullaby in my ears when I was a child:

If you die a hero’s death,
I shall visit your grave,
In the best of attire and make up.
Instead of mourning and lamenting
I shall sing you a song of joy.
And shall proudly give birth
To another child exactly like you.

I am sure dearest sisters will not weep and go into mourning over my death. I ask my grandmother to recall the lullaby she used to sing for all of us:

When my flower-like son becomes a youth
He will arm himself with the best of weapons.
He shall make the traitors bite the dust,
He shall fight and crush his enemies.

The lofty mountains and the vast plains of Balochistan are waiting for those who could embrace them and turn them into castles and battlegrounds.

Mountains are the fortresses of the Baloch
Impregnable heights are their treasure houses
Flowing springs quench their thirst
Their children are selected arrows
Sharp-edged daggers are their sons-in-law
Baloch fathers are broad-bladed swords.

Hameed Baloch.

Geneva: national liberation of Baluchistan is the final solution: Mehran Baluch

GENEVA: MEHRAN BALUCH, of Interfaith International, said Baluchistan was a sovereign independent nation that was forcibly occupied in 1948 by neighbouring Pakistan. Since then the occupying power had used every method to enslave the Baluch, and had exploited and plundered Baluchistan’s resources. The level of international deception by the Occupying Power was not only regrettable but extremely shameful. The world had to acknowledge that the Occupying Power had been deceitfully marketing itself and its importance internationally at Baluchistan’s expense. The continued subjugation and oppression by the Baluch by the occupiers for over 63 years had brought even the weakest Baluch to the conclusion that national liberation of Baluchistan was the final solution.

Mr. Chairman,

Baluchistan was a sovereign independent nation which was forcibly occupied in 1948 by neighboring Pakistan. Since occupation the Baluch have been struggling for their national liberation. Hoverer the occupying power has used every method to enslave the Baluch, exploit and plunder Baluchistan’s resources in order to sustain - “the occupying Nation”.

Mr. Chairman,

The level of international deception by the occupying power is not only regrettable but extremely shameful. I say this because it presents it-self in the international community as a strategically important and viable nation where as it’s neither without Baluchistan’s landmass and its resources.

Mr. Chairman,

The occupying power frequently boasts about its strategic position in South Asia. But what strategic importance does Punjab province have? Not much, because they are land locked, over populated and without any significant natural resources.

Mr. Chairman,

The world has to acknowledge that the occupying power has been deceitfully marketing itself and its importance internationally only on Baluchistan’s expense. Almost the entire cost line of Pakistan is Baluchistan.

Resources such as gas, coal, gold and other natural minerals produced in Baluchistan is looted and plundered by Punjabi Pakistan. Almost 50% of Pakistan’s land is Baluchistan.

Mr. Chairman.

It is interesting to see that occupying power portrays us as anti-Islam to its own people where as it portrays us as Islamic fundamentalists to the west.

Mr. Chairman,

The continued subjugation and oppression of the Baluch by the occupiers for over 63 years of occupation has brought even the weakest Baluch to the conclusion that national liberation of Baluchistan is the final solution.

The occupying Government has enjoyed a free hand in Baluchistan where it has carried out 5 major military operations over 6 decades , killed tens of thousands, abducted and tortured thousands, Yet it remains champion of Islam and advocate of human rights.

Mr. Chairman,

I was the first person to bring the case of gross human rights violations committed in Baluchistan by the occupying Pakistani Army, ISI and the establishment to the United Nations Human Rights Commission in 2001.

Pakistan has tried to silence me by registering false criminal cases against me and my family. Pakistan through its notorious ISI has intensified an extensive propaganda campaign against Baluch human rights defenders worldwide.

They have gone as far as threatening the Head of NGO that accredits me, presented false Interpol papers to international governments, tried to blackmail the British into extraditing me to Pakistan and as well as requesting the Swiss authorities on a number of occasions to arrest me on the false basis of terrorism.

Mr. Chairman,

The Pakistani establishment is doing its best to break the will of the Baloch for freedom and human rights but it is unstoppable, therefore it is promoting the policy of divide and rule with the promise of autonomy for the Baluch through its so-called democratic government and its agents, in order to disillusion the Baluch nation and the international community into believing that Pakistan is sincere in resolving the Baluch conflict.

The struggle of liberty over oppression is the struggle of memory over forgetting. And we have not forgotten that once we were free.

The Human Rights Council on 10 Jun 2009, concluded its general debate on human rights situations that require its attention and its general debate on human rights bodies and mechanisms, under which it heard the President of the Council present reports on his visits to Brazil and Bahrain in April and May this year.

In the general debate on human rights situations that require the Council’s attention, a series of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) raised a number of issues about violations of human rights in specific countries and regions, and also highlighted thematic violations, including women and women’s rights, violence against women and honour killings, and the right to development and to self determination.

The following NGOs took the floor: International Humanist and Ethical Union, Association for World Education, Hawa Society for Women, Lawyers Rights Watch Canada, Commission to Study the Organization of Peace, Colombian Commission of Jurists, Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (Forum-Asia), Permanent Assembly for Human Rights (APDH), North-South XXI, Interfaith International, World Muslim Congress, Centrist Democratic International, Mbororo Social and Cultural Development Association (MBOSCUDA), Liberation, Human Rights Council of Australia, Federación de Asociaciones de Defensa y Promoción de los Derechos Humanos, Baha’i International Community, International Institute for Peace, MINBYUN - Lawyers for a Democratic Society, Pax Romana, International Educational Development, Society Studies Centre, Charitable Institute for Protecting Social Victims, Organization for Defending Victims of Violence, Arab Commission for Human Rights, Union de l’action féminine, European Union of Public Relations, Cercle de recherche sur les droits et les devoirs de la personne humaine, Conectas Direitos Humanos, International Institute for Non-Aligned Studies, Commission to Study the Organization of Peace, Amnesty International, Indian Council of Education, Human Rights Council of Australia, in a joint statement with Asian Legal Resource Centre, and Baha’i International Community, International Service for Human Rights, and Arab Commission for Human Rights.

Eastern Balochistan: Baloch rally against Iran

QUETTA: Threatening to target Iranian nationals in Pakistan, hundreds of Baloch women and children rallied on Monday against the recent execution of five Baloch nationals by the Iranian government.

The protest was organised by the Baloch Women’s Panel and the Baloch Students Organisation (BSO-Azad), and was led by University of Balochistan Professor Dr Saba Dashtiyari. Chanting slogans against the Iranian government, the protesters appealed to the international community to take notice of the “grave violation of human rights” against the Baloch Sunni ethnic and religious minority.

Five Baloch were executed in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan due to their alleged involvement in the terrorist attack on a Shia mosque on May 28, which resulted in 25 people dead and 125 injured. Following the attack, Iran shut down its border with Pakistan, stating Jandullah, who claimed responsibility for the attack, was using Pakistani territory to stage its attacks.

Meher Jan Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Women’s Panel, condemned the public hanging, saying the Baloch were not given a fair trial or the right to defend themselves. “International countries and human rights organisations, mainly the US and the UN, should take notice of the mistreatment meted out to minorities in Iran,” she said. She warned that if Iran did not improve its relations with the Baloch population, then the Baloch living in Pakistan occupied Balochistan would move to help their brethren by target killing Iranian nationals living in, or visiting, Pakistan.

Dr Saba Dashtiyari, meanwhile, claimed Iran and Pakistan had been collaborating with each other to suppress their Baloch populations. She said the Baloch living on both sides of the border did not recognise the international boundary. The public hanging of the Baloch citizens would prove counter-productive in the future, as Baloch would avenge this action, she added.

Western Balochistan: serious human right violations reports against the Iranian authorities

Report by Reza Hossein Borr: “25 Baluch have been killed and hundreds of Baluch people have been arrested since Sunday in Zahedan. Dozens of shops that belonged to the Baluch people have been completely destroyed. The security forces are searching a large area of Zahedan house by house. Anybody who wears Baluchi clothe is searched and possibly arrested. There are security forces everywhere”.

According to reports from the activists in BHRAA “the Islamic Republic of Iran still continues arresting people and spreads terror, horror and fear in Zahedan, even several days after Zahedan ‘’Imam Ali’’ mosque bomb attack. Some of local reports suggest that more than 100 persons have been arrested.

The most recent report obtained by our reporters in Zahedan suggests that the security police forces arrested more than 25 Baluch in Zahedan on Sunday 31 of May 2009 and transferred them to yet an unknown place. These detainees include people a) who were admitted to the ‘’Khatm-ul-ania’’ hospital in Zahedan because they had been beaten by the pro-regime ultra-conservative groups, the relatives to the wounded while were visiting them.

Furthermore, the reports suggest that the relatives dare not ask any investigation into what happened to their family members, as they fear for their own safety and destiny”.

Henry Newman of www.guardian.co.uk, writes “Iran, embarrassed by the attacks in Zahedan, has been quick to act. Less than 36 hours after the mosque bombing, three rebels were executed following a rushed trial. The judiciary head of Sistan-Baluchistan has been keen to stress that due process was observed but this trial and previous trials of terrorist suspects have been criticised by human rights organisations. In the case of the Zahedan bombing, statements regarding the trial, the plot itself and even the numbers affected are divergent, even contradictory.

The bombings highlight ongoing ethno-religious tensions within Iran and across the broader region. Despite the attempts of Iranian officials to deflect attention onto external scapegoats it is clear that there are serious domestic problems: the country's integrity is not yet in real danger but the Islamic regime and Iranian society at large must seek a more equitable accommodation for its diverse population”.

Referring to the Baluch activists, political parties and media The London based Baluch analyst Mr Hossein Borr complains that perhaps media and political parties from Eastern Balochistan are not taking the tention in Westersn Balchistan as seriously.

He asks “Can anybody explain why the Baluch activists, political parties and media in different parts of the world and specifically in East Balochistan are silent about the mass arrests and killings of Baluch people in the last few days in Western Baluchistan”? He further writes “This is a very defining moment in our history. The Baluch people want to know who is working to achieve the rights of the Baluch people and whole is doing business in politics.

Those who are engaged in politics in every corner of Baluchistan or the world, now face a determining choice which will shape the view of the Baluch people on them. The Baluch people now see with their own eyes, who are working for the achievement of Baluch rights and who are in politics to make a name, find a seat in parliament or in government or benefit from it financially in different ways. This is also a determining phase in the direction of Baluch movement. This is a time to make your stand very clear”.

He is optimistic that "The Baluch people will succeed in achieving their rights only if all Baluch intellectuals, political activists, political parties, newspapers and Internet media focus their attention on developments that are taking place right now inside Zahedan.

These circumstances are effective test to indicate who is really committed to Baluch cause and who is in politics for financial gains".

The Shaal zone leaders of BRP and BSO while addressing a protest rally at Quetta press club said that missing Baloch are facing sever torture at the hands of Pakistani army and intelligence agencies. Missing Baloch student and political activists’ lives are in grave danger. Jamal Baloch of BRP and Qamber Chakar Baloch of BSO (azaad) said that Baloch detainees in Sibi jail have been tortured and humiliated only because they had pictures of Hyrbair Marri and other Baloch leaders with them in jail. They said that international community must take notice of the atrocities of Pakistani army against the people of Balochistan. They further stated that Baloch political prisoners are prisoners of conscious and they should be treated according to Geneva conventions as “prisoners of war”.

Open in new windowOn the other hand Baloch women and children protest against Pakistani police and security services behavior in Mand town in Balochistan. The FC and regular army personal had taken off the flag of Balochistan from the Antharab Mountain, but the Baloch women have hoisted the flag again regarding it a symbol of recognition for Baloch national struggle for freedom. The protesters in Mand chanted slogans against Pakistani security forces. Despite the extreme hot weather the Baloch women and children protested for several hours.

Meanwhile panjgur town remained closed for the second day after BNP (M) and other political parties called for shutter-down against murder of Noor Ahmad Baloch, who was killed by the police on 31 May while chasing a stolen car. Vice chairperson of BSO (azaad) and two others awarded three year sentence by a Pakistani court

Turbat: An anti terror court has sentenced central vice chairperson of BSO (azaad) Ms. Karima Baloch and two others for three years and imposed on penalty of 150 thousand Pakistani rupees, the court however acquitted peer Jan Baloch of the treason charges. According to details Ms. Karima Baloch, Hammal Baloch and Wahab Baloch were charged under section 123,124 of Pakistan’s law on 14 August 2006. These sections apparently constitute treason if proved. Ms. Karima Baloch and others were accused of treason when they joined a protest rally to observe 14 August (the independence day of Pakistan) as a black day and protest against forced disappearance of thousands Baloch men and women at Shaheed Fida Chowk in Turbat town in Balochistan.

The “special judge” declared them abscond and sentenced and fined them in their absence.

We the BaluchWarna team strongly condemn the sentencing of BSO (azaad) vice chairperson Ms Karima Baloch and others.

1. We believe the judge has sentenced them under pressure from Pakistan’s intelligence agencies (ISI) and MI (Military Intelligence), as it is an open secret that judges in Pakistan has no power to take any decision independently.

2. It is an undeniable fact that Baloch has nothing to do with Pakistan’s independence and 14 August is observed as a “day of mourning” and condemnation all over Balochistan every year. Sentencing only three people in this regard we believe is illogical.

3. If Pakistan’s judges are really free do decide whatever they want then they must take action against the intelligence agencies who have kidnapped thousands of Baloch youth, elderly, and women. Sentencing those who protest against such atrocities we believe is misuse of power by the Pakistani court and the so called “special judge”.

4. Protesting against state atrocities i.e. illegal detentions, extra judicial murders, rape and misconduct of state intelligence agencies is the democratic right of every individual and for exercising this right Baloch people should not be sentenced.

5. Recently three Baloch political leaders namely Ghulam Mohammad Baloch, Lala Munir Baloch and Sher Mohammad Baloch had been murdered by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies but the courts did not taken any action. The killers of those Baloch leaders are still at large. Baloch student and political activists are being abducted on daily bases but courts do not take any action.

6. Wahid Qamber Baloch who has been acquitted by Balochistan high court due lack of evidence but the ATF (anti terror force) are holding him illegally. His family members including his daughter are currently on hunger strike in Balochistan and Karachi. Again we see no action from the courts and judges.

7. 23-year school teacher Ms. Zarina Baloch is still in custody in Pakistan and her case has been well documented by national and international human right groups that she is being used as a sex slave by Pakistani army. Courts have taken no action against this heinous crime of the military perpetrators. Yet the Baluch activists are being sentenced for opposing such inhuman crimes of the army of Pakistan.

There are numerous such incidents which the courts have simply ignored and took no action against the state sponsored perpetrators. We believe this is biasness of the Pakistani courts to sentence Baloch people for exercising their democratic right but the abductors of thousands of Baloch are not only roaming freely but abducting more and more innocent people.
