Pakistan government has banned Asaap Newspaper in Balochistan

Quetta: “Pakistani government has sent FC to surround the office of Daily Asaap on Seryaib road Quetta that is why the today’s Asaap could not be published” An announcement by Daily Asaap said.

The Pakistani government’s aim of closing down Daily Asaap is; because of its [Assap's] love to Balochistan and its loyalty to Baloch people. As soon as the new so called democratic government came to power they started to pressurise the reporters, writer and journalists from Daily Asaap’s team to stop working for the news paper. It was during these time when Asaap’s editor and Baloch writer Jan Mohammad Dashti was attacked and critically injured in Quetta.

After the assassination attempt on Mr Dashti the Pakistani government started a campaign of pressurising all other members of Daily Asaap team. Despite all these pressure tactics they have failed to close down the newspaper. Eventually, they sent FC to raid and surround the Daily Asaap’s office on Seryaib road in Quetta and stop the staff from entering the office.

But the team of Assap is adamant to continue their work they say that even if they are stopped from publishing their newspaper they will continue to publish the newspaper online. The online publication of Asaap will resume working in few days.
