Pakistan Nuclear Madness

In Koh Kambaran range and Chaagi hills the conduction of five nuclear explosions in 28th May 1998 yield 40 kT (kilotons) and sixth nuclear explosion in Kharaan (at ‘un-identified’ location) 30th may 1998 yield 12 kT of radio toxic nuclide that may cause contamination in mountains, desert, environment and over ground and underground water.

The Baloch people in these areas lives nomadic life, shepherd in their profession, utilizes cattle, ponds, underground water, over ground agriculture and natural plants and un-aware of today’s world so called advance education and technologies.

Before conduction of such test no risk assessment and safety management and evacuation of areas have been considered and local area population has not been taken in to confidence for such test. These nuclear tests should be file as a crime committed against local Baloch people for destroying and contaminating their lives and environment.

According to local population that different kind of diseases such as, Leukemia, bone marrow, nausea, diarrhea, dehydration, bleeding ulcers, abnormal birth of child, tiredness spread after blasts including diseases and death in cattle. These deterministic effects shows the sign of high doses may due radiotoxic nuclides exposures. And still its concern of local Baloch people that might be victim of long term radio toxicity which termed as stochastic effects. And no research has been conducted on this issue and no independent scientific research papers have been published to determine radiation level explosion conducted region in Balochistan.

Today’s world and IAEA’s were well aware of all the Pakistan’s nuclear weaponry and its expansion activities since 1970’s and 1980’s. Stealing and building enrichment centrifuges designs from URENCO and the building of HWR (heavy water reactors) and CANDU type reactor in Khushab and Karachi respectively and continuously breeding weapon grad plutonium and HEU (High Enrichment of Uranium) in Kahuta facilities. Insignificant increase in the weapon demands and its constructions were showing nuclear race and madness of Pakistani high authorities such as militant and establishment along with Chinese co-operation (CNEIC). Even all the nuclear power plants do not full fill the energy purposes. According to WNA (World Nuclear Association) these nuclear power plants only full fill the requirement of 2% of Electricity while 37% of it is from gas and 29% of it is from Oil. And there is no technology regarding long-term waste management of high level nuclear wastes. And it is also very important to know Pakistan is one among three countries that still did not sign on NPT (Non-proliferation Treaty). Pakistan nuclear weaponry activities expansions and black marketing are enormously dangerous for all human in this world.

Awaran (Mashkay): Baloch National Movement’s central care-taker President Mr. Asa Zafar Baloch said educated and intelligent leadership are involved in Baloch National movement, our struggle is for victory of Baloch nation only and there is no confusion about that. He expressed these views while addressing a massive lecture program in Mashaky high school. He said “we do not demand anything from the occupiers but our struggle is to get rid of the 60 year slavery which has been imposed on us”. He said that movement was being fought in an organised way on both political and armed fronts and Baloch liberation movement has been recognised on international level.

He said that at this very important juncture of the movement everyone needs to sacrifice their luxuries to fulfill their national duties. He said that “We should neither be overjoyed nor loose hope, but we should follow the philosophy of Shaheed Ghulam Mohmmad, Nawab Bugti, Dr Khalid Baloch, Balach Marri and thousands of other and we need to unite under the leadership of Brahumdgh Bugti and Dr Allah Nazar Baloch”. The Message and awareness about national liberation need to be delivered to every housed, village and town. Everyone cannot be involved in armed struggle but everyone should play their part in national struggle according to their capability.

Talking about the role of religious scholars in national movement he said Islam says that silence over cruelty is the biggest cruelty itself and Islam allows us to fight for our rights, dignity and survival. He said the way Shaheed Ghulam Mohammad Baloch and his companions had been abducted in broad day light from the house of law and later killed in cold-blood and their bodies disrespected, is a challenge for the Baluch nation and we accept this challenge. Every Baloch child will struggle till their last breath, he said. “Everyone dies in the end then why should not we die fighting for our country”, Mr Asa Zafar Baloch said in his concluding remarks.

According to people, the intensity of the blast was so high and the sound could be heard from faraway areas.

On the other hand unidentified men in Sui blew up gas pipeline at zain koh area of Dera Bugti on Wednesday; the pipeline was supplying gas to Sui plant.

The men had placed explosives under the eighteen-inch diameter pipeline that damaged a portion of the pipeline. Gas supply to Sui plant has been suspended. Baloch Republican Army spokesman Sarbaz Baloch claimed responsibility for the explosion.

Separately, on Tuesday unknown person (s) fired more than 30 rockets at a camp established on gas well while a gas pipeline supplying gas to well no.6 was blown up late Tuesday night but, however, no casualty was reported.

According to media reports reaching here said that some unidentified persons fired more than 30 rockets at a camp set up on gas well no.82 located at Kashmore Road late Tuesday night and no casualty and property loss was reported as the rockets landed in open area.

According to Sui gas officials, the rockets were fired from mountains, 9km from Sui and huge contingent of security forces and Lashkar of Bugti tribe sent to the area.

Local sources said that the rockets blasts rocked the city and caused panic due to which residents spent the whole night in open sky.

The rockets were fired at a time when the nomination or a ’Dastarbandi’ ceremony of the newly Nawab of Bugti tribe Aali Bugti was held on Tuesday amid tight security.
On the other hand, a gas supply line to well no.6 was blown up by some unknown attackers.

Wahid Qamber Baloch will be killed in custody, family shows concerned and announced hunger strike

Balochistan: Wahid Qamber Baloch and Fazal Kareem Baloch's sister and niece while addressing a Press conference in front of Turbat press club said that Abdul Wahid Qambar Baloch, along with his two mates Fazal Kareem Baloch and Nako Faiz Baloch, was abducted at gunpoint from his native twon thump (Makuran) on March 14, 2007, by the secret agencies and FC.

After 9 months agony and inhuman torture of their arrest on April 21, 2008 they were then given in the custody of bordering town of Panjhpai police and the police have put Qamber Baloch on two days remand. The then IGP was pressurised by MI to lodge fake cases of keeping drugs and illegal arms against Abdul Wahid Qambar but he refused, after Chief Minister Balochistan told the IGP not to lodge any false cases against Mr Qamber Baloch. In fact they released Nako Faiz after sever torture and humiliation at the hand of Pakistani intelligence agencies. (It must be noted that Nako Faiz Baloch has now been abducted for the third time on May 3rd 2009, and he’s still missing). Wahid Qamber and Fazal Kareem were taken into custody on April 28, 2008 by the CID Quetta. Both the men once again suffered inhuman tortured by the Pakistani intelligence agencies.

They were then shifted to Turbat from Quetta on May 6, 2008 and then moved to District Jail after a short hearing in an ATF court on the same day. “We visited him and Fazal Haider in Trubat jail, they were very week, and they had obvious sings of torture on their bodies and suffering from diseases” recalls Qamber’s daughter Sahri Baloch. Instead of a medical check up he was put in the jail for over a month where his health further deteriorated. He then was shifted to ATF Jail Quetta again on June 8, 2008 without giving him any notice and all the fake cases against him were also transferred in Anti Terrorist Court-1, Quetta.

Interestingly, he was acquitted of all cases except FIR no 6 in which he was sentenced to jail for 25 years. We, however, lodge an appeal against the sentence in Balochistan High Court which was succeeded and the respectable judge of High Court asked the ATC-1 to reopen the case and restart the proceedings, she added.

Ironically, the ATC court, which was asked to decide the case in three weeks time, had given my father into police custody on remand by violating high court’s orders, she told. “While, it is the national and international law that the prisoners during a trial in court could not be given into police custody on remand,” she added. The ATC judge under pressure from the intelligence agencies has handed her father to the police on physical remand once again. “The police and the agencies have no prove against my father in the false FIR 6, that is why they pressurised the judge to give my father to the intelligence agencies on physical remand” she added.

Shari said that her father with the help of torture in the name of remand would be coerced to accept committing crimes which he did not commit. She said it was more likely that he would be murdered in the custody of intelligence agencies like other Baloch leaders Ghulam Mohammad, Lala Munir, and Shair Mohammad who were abducted during their trial and from their lawyer’s office in broad day light. They too were killed in cold blood. “I fear same will happen to my father” she said.

The family members of Wahid Qamber and Fazal Kareem have appealed to the United Nations, ICRC, International Human Rights Commission, Asian Human Rights Commission and other organisations to help her in her father’s release.

They announced to go on a week’s strike from May 20 in front of Karachi Press Club against the remand and arrest of Abdul Wahid Qambar and Fazal Kareem. Wahid Qamber’s and Fazal Kareem’s sister and nieces are on strike at Turbat Press Club from May 19 (today). They warned that if their loved one are not released, they would take any harmful step and the responsibility would solely be relies on Balochistan Governor, Balochistan Chief Minister, and heads of secret service meaning intelligence agencies.

PPP admits national anthem abandoned in Balochistan schools

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) conceded on Tuesday that even in several government schools of the provincial capital of Balochistan, national anthem has been abandoned and the national flag is no more hoisted.
Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi during a media chat on Monday also expressed concern over the unfortunate practice and called for a thorough investigation into it.Nawabzada Mir Lashkari Raisani, who is PPP Balochistan Chapter’s President, when approached for comments, confirmed that schools in many areas no more echoed with the national anthem.

“Yes, it is a bitter reality that some elements are promoting this idea of abandoning the national anthem and avoid hoisting Pakistani flag on the school buildings and other government buildings,” the Baloch leader, who recently held back his resignation as a member of the Senate, maintained.

The National Party’s newly-elected legislator, Hasil Bezinjo, made a stunning revelation during the recently-prorogued session of Senate that the schools in his province had abandoned the national anthem because of the “seething injustices committed to the people of the province”.

A source close to Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani told this correspondent from Quetta that the government was fully aware of the trend and he blamed a handful of separatist elements. However, he was quick to add that before this unfortunate practice took an ugly turn, those sitting in Islamabad, would have to take concrete measures to rectify the situation in Pakistanís largest but the poorest province.

The chief minister was not available for comments, as he was to board a plane for Islamabad, where he was expected to take up the latest situation in the province with the federal government.

Bismillah Khan Kakar, who is PPPís Secretary General, Balochistan, when contacted, said that certain elements were now openly campaigning for Balochistan’s separation from Pakistan in the provincial capital.

“When we move around, we can see graffiti on walls of buildings even very close to the Governor House and the Chief Minister House in the heart of Quetta. The writings reflect the rebellious thinking of certain people,” he pointed out.

He referred to slogan like ‘long live Free Balochistan’ written on scores of government offices and schools. Kakar, who belongs to District Qila Saifullah’s Habibzai locality, was of the view that it was time to act and act fast to address grievances of the people of Balochistan.

He said it was time for practical struggle. “I advise all student parties including BRSO to take part in practical struggle and make their organisation stronger. Removing national flag and not allowing recitation of national anthem not govt failur: Magsi

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi said on Monday it was the responsibility of the provincial government to take action against elements who removed national flag from educational institutions and stopped recitation of national anthem by their students.

‘Nobody should be allowed to challenge the writ of the government,’ the governor said, adding that removing national flag and not allowing recitation of national anthem did not mean that the government had no control over the province.

The governor, who was talking to reporters during a visit to the Frontier Corps Headquarters here, said the provincial government should take notice of the issue.

The federal government would intervene if the situation went out of control of the provincial government, Mr Magsi added.

He said the government would restore its writ and institutions responsible for maintaining law and order were working effectively.

He said that people raising the slogan of independence of Balochistan were not living in the province. ‘Only a few people are raising this slogan and they are living abroad and we don’t accept this slogan.’

He expressed the hope that the situation in the province would soon improve and nationalists would be ready for talks and said the federal government should hold talks with nationalist leaders to resolve the Balochistan issue.

‘The federal government can resolve the issue by accepting the genuine demands of the people of Balochistan, including provincial autonomy, control over provincial resources and increase in province’s quota in federal services and other institutions,’ he added.

The governor held the Musharraf government responsible for the law and order situation in the province.

Earlier, the governor was briefed on responsibilities and performance of the Frontier Corps in Balochistan. A senior FC officer said that the FC was deployed to secure borders, prevent smuggling of arms and narcotics, protect national installations and maintain law and order if asked by the provincial government.

Baloch protests Zardari arrival at White House

The DC-based American Friends of Baluchistan has congratulated the brotherly Baloch International League for the rally in front of the White House on Wednesday to expose Pakistan army brutalities against Baluchistan.

"Former Speaker Waheed Baloch, government minister Dr. Tara Chand and Waja Razzaq Baloch, must be commended for their decision to bring the Baluch issue to the attention of the world. The A.F.B. will side with Speaker Waheed Baloch or any other secular Baluch organization through thick and thin," AFB presiding council members Mohammed Ali Baloch and Waja Karim Bakhsh, formerly of Qatar, said in a statement on Thursday.

Speaker Baloch had planned the rally at the UN headquarters in New York against the killing of his close friend Waja Ghulam Mohammed Baloch by Pakistan's secret services, but shifted the venue to Washington DC in view of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari's arrival, along with the chief of the infamous Inter Services Intelligence Lt. Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha, in Washington D.C. for talks with President Barack Obama.

Ghulam Mohammed Baloch, 45, was abducted along with Lala Munir Baloch, 50, and Sher Mohammed Baloch, 35, by Pakistan's infamous Inter Services Intelligence and Military Intelligence, shot in the head and their bodies dropped from a military helicopter in the outskirts of Turbat last month.

Speaker Waheed Baloch and Dr. Tara Chand were close friends of the slain leader Ghulam Mohammed and had worked with him in the secular and progressive Baloch Students Organization, the main voice of Baluch youths and students. The BSO has thousands of supporters.

"Passers-by showed great interest in the rally," said Professor Jawaid Bhutto, a friend of Baluchistan in Washington DC, who attended the rally.

Bhutto said Afghan President Hamid Karzai turned around to look at the protesters curiously.

The two A.F.B. leaders said the Baluch have to be vigilant against paid agents who try to erect a fifth column in the Baluch international movement for their personal gain. "The A.F.B. vows to unmask the faces of such elements," the two leaders said.

The A.F.B. also thanked Munnawar Laghari, former director of the World Sindhi Institute, for his help, attendance and speech at the Baloch International League rally.

The A.F.B. has a simple two-point agenda: right of national self determination for the Baluch people and ending Pakistani and Iranian military occupation of Baluchistan.

The Baluch the invisible victims of War on terror - public meeting report

United Kingdom, May 5, 2009: CAMPACC (Campaign against Criminializing Communities) organized and sponsored a public meeting on issues related to Balochistan in the House of Lords. The meeting was hosted and chaired by Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, one of the UK's top defence barristers. Labour Peer Lord Rea attended the meeting and said he will do his best to raise these issues with other members of the Houses of Lords. Khan of Kalat Suleiman Daud Ahmadzai was also in attendance. A large number of Baloch other human rights activists including Mr Estella of CAMPACC, and the lawyers of Hyrbair Marri and Faiz Baluch attended the meeting. The speaker included Baroness Helena Kennedy one of the top defence barristers in the UK, Ms Gareth pierce an extinguished human rights lawyer, peter Tatchell a human rights campaigner and candidate of Green party, exiled Baloch leader Sardarzada Hyrbair Marri and Faiz Baluch a human rights activist.

Hyrbair Marri in speech gave graphic explanations of Balochistan’s history of struggle and the Pakistani military offensives in Balochistan. He said that since the occupation of Baluch land the Baluch have been suffering from slow motion genocide at the hands of Pakistani army. He said that Pakistani army was committing war crimes in Balochistan. Former dictator Genrel Musharraf and his Regime are guilty of crimes against humanity, killing and abducting of thousands of Baloch in Balochistan.

He said that “0n 20th November 2007, my brother Balach Marri was murdered by Pakistan’s army in Balochistan. That gave Musharraf the opportunity to put more pressure on the British government to arrest me. As he had got rid of my brother and now he was after me. Mr Brown’s government succumbed to Musharraf’s pressure and they arrested me to appease him”.

Praising the British jury system while expressing his disappointment at Mr Brown’s government he said that “The jury which comprised people from different walks of life have understood the gravity of our problem and recognised our struggle for Independence. I sincerely thank the jury who have acquitted me of the terrorism charges. However I was appalled to find out that I was being prosecuted only because of my political stand. I was being prosecuted only because I am opposed to the exploitation of Baloch wealth and I am against the atrocities that the Pakistani army is committing against my Nation. I was being prosecuted because I asked my Nation to stand up for what is theirs. I was being prosecuted because I am a supporter of Independent Balochistan. “Freedom is the right of every Nation and asking for freedom should not be a crime”.

After giving a graphic detail of military offensives and human rights violations in Balochistan by Pakistani army and intelligence services Mr Marri said that “The slow motion genocide and massacre of Baloch people is taking place right under the nose of International community but the so called champions of human rights and International law makers remained silent on the death and destruction of my nation. Musharraf and his army generals had committed war crimes in Balochistan. They should be arrested and tried in the international criminal court, as its common knowledge these Pakistani army generals come to stay in the UK and United states after their retirement. Although they have committed crime against humanity, they are protected in western democracies. It is very unfortunate that UK being one the most democratic countries have arrested and put us behind bars to silent our voice forever. Our arrest was no co-incident but it was the result of Musharraf’s pressure on Mr Brown’s government, it was the result of the collusion between the UK and Pakistani agencies. They arrested us only to please Musharraf and the Pakistani army”.

Directly appealing to the international community Mr Marri said that “Today my main plea is that the international community must recognise our legitimate struggle against the illegitimate occupation of our land. Our struggle is for Independence and restoration of our sovereignty only. We are not trying to break or make Pakistan. Our struggle is not a movement of separation but it is against the occupation of our Independent state which was occupied at gunpoint by Pakistan in 1948.

Our language, culture, identity and existence are at the brink of extinction and we are struggling for our survival. We need the International community’s moral support. We need international intervention in Balochistan. International community must act now and help us to end the occupation of our land”.

Faiz Baloch also spoke of the trial and pointed out that “One of the most ridiculous things about our case and trial was that the CPS has tried to deceive the jury into thinking that we were Al-Qaeeda. We are everything that Al-Qaeeda hates. We are secular people. We are not extremists; we are proud to be Muslims but that has nothing to do with our struggle for the freedom of our country. Maybe the prosecution was trying make the jury prejudiced toward the Baloch struggle, but I am glad that the jury have taken the side of the truth and justice by acquitting me of the terrorism charges unanimously. The credit however goes to our legal teams who have worked tirelessly to make the jury understand that this case was totally different then what the prosecution was trying to portray. During my trial I felt like it was not only me and Mr Marri on trial but it was the Baluch nation versus Pakistan – we have put the state on trial and won with pride and dignity. That is why the victory in this trial I believe is the victory of Baloch nation as Nation and Baloch National struggle of Freedom”.

Talking about his expectations form the international community he said that “I really believed that if the international community knew what was happening in Balochistan they would help us. But after my arrest I have begun to think that I was naive. I was being prosecuted in a democratic country like the UK for running a website, which was basically aimed to bring the plight of the Baloch nation to the world’s attention, and for exercising my freedom of speech. The CPS has acknowledged, as has the British government, that the Baloch have been subjected to acts that are tantamount to war crimes and yet I was the one who had been arrested and banged up in UK’s high security prison for months, only for trying to inform the world about the abuses that were taking place in my country. I feel that the Baloch are just victims of a complicated geo-political situation. There are many countries that have their own designs and interests in our region because of the geographic and strategic importance of Balochistan and our natural resources.

The website I ran is called Balochwarna. Balochwarna’s aims are simple – we want to bring news of what is happening in Balochistan to the international community’s attention. We want to engage and inform human rights groups around the world about what is happening in our country”.

He also spoke about the media blackout in Balochistan and abduction and torture of Baloch journalists and writers. Talking about the development in Balochistan is said that the mega projects are not aimed to benefit the Baluch but these to change the Baluch into a minority on their own homeland. Talking about the nuclear explosions in Balochistan he said that Pakistan is using the Baloch land as a waste dump.

Baluch in his concluding remarks said that “The message I am here trying to convey is that the Baloch, recognised as a separate and distinct people have suffered a brutal and lengthy occupation. Our lands have been confiscated, our resources are being stolen, and our young people are discriminated against and denied education. We have only ever asked for the same rights as all other peoples. We have only ever asked to be heard. We have a right to have a say in our future and the future of our country. The Pakistani government has only ever had one real answer to the legitimate demands of the Baloch and that is violence. They persecute and murder our activists. People of all ages are dragged from their homes and disappeared and tortured. Our towns and villages are destroyed using laser guided weaponry supplied by the west. When possible we have tried to protect ourselves through the political process but this is not possible. The natural wealth of Baluchistan is so great and the strategic position of Baluchistan is so significant that the Pakistani army who run the government will never recognise our rights. We need your help. We need your support. The British government’s response to our suffering was to prosecute me and Mr Marri for just talking about it and highlighting our cause. Fortunately an ordinary British jury saw through this and found us not guilty. We now want you to help us tell the world about Baluchistan our struggle for independence and to stop the Pakistani army killing another generation of Baluch”.

Peter Tatchall a human rights campaigner and candidate for Green party said that it the high level collusion between the british govt and the agents of Pakistani dictator. He said that british actively and knowingly collaborated with the agents of Musharraf and thats shamefull. Our struggle is not for Sardari but for Balocistan’s liberation: Akhtar Mengal

Our struggle is continuation of Nawab Nauroz Khan’s struggle
*Stroke of pen and barrel of gun both will be used for Independence struggle
*Baloch student stopped from hoisting Balochistan’s flag on BNP’s stage

Pasni/Gwader: Baloch land is not anyone else’s property except the Baloch Nation. Our struggle is not for parliament or to save Sardari system but our struggle is for Liberation of Baloch land and it is a continuation of Nawab Nauroz Khan’s struggle, Sardar Akhtar Mengal the leader of BNP (Mengal) and ex-chief minister of Balochistan expressed these views while addressing a public gathering in Pasni Town in Balochistan.

Mr Mengal said that we need a Balochistan where Nawab Bugti, Ghulam Mohammad Baloch, Lala Munir Baloch and Sher Mohammad Baloch’s dead bodies wouldn’t be disrespect. He said we don’t need Pakistan’s development but we need a developed Balochistan where Baloch can live with pride and dignity. No power can stop us from getting our right to self-determination.

Mengal said that government claims of development in coastal areas are just words of mouth. In reality no development had taken place in last 20 years. He said he had visited pasni twenty years ago, today he could see no changes it is still the same. The only development one can see is the army check points and army personal everywhere in Balochistan. Pakistan is expelling Baloch people from Baloch land in the name of development and so called Mega projects, pointed out Mr Mengal.

He said Balochistan is not that soft that everyone can eat and digest it. Baloch had fought wars against The British and the portages and defeated them. Punjabi are nothing infect they are slaves of the British and the portages. Punjabi’s graves won’t even be tolerated on Baloch land, because their hands are soaked with Baloch blood, said Sardar Mengal.

He said that previously Musharraf said that 70 Sardars were with him out of 73 Sardars. "From that day we have decided that we are not among those Sardars who sit on the lap of Musharraf that is why a crackdown was started against our party and workers. Today where are those 70 sardars whom Musharraf used to praise. He said healthy Jam Yousaf used to be one of Musharraf’s followers but today he can’t be seen anywhere".

Others who addressed the massive public gathering were Mr Jhanzeb Jamaldini, Noordin Mengal, Javid Baloch and Murad Mengal. These leaders in their speeches said that Balochistan despite being the richest and full of natural resources its people were among the poorest. Baloch people today lack basic necessities of life i.e. gas, elasticity, clean drinking water and hospitals. Whereas as Punjab is benefiting from Balochistan wealth. They said that Self-determination and autonomy was BNP’s aim and objective. They paid rich tributes to Martyrs of Turbat Balochistan and said that there was need of a long queue to follow the foot-prints for the Martyrs. They stated that Balochistan coastal belt Pasni, Gwader, Jewani, Ormara, Sonmyani and Gadani were financing billions of rupees to Pakistan each year. Whereas the people of coastal belt and in Balochistan could hardly get onetime bread to feed their children. They vowed that their struggle would continue from the stroke of pen to the barrel of gun.

Meanwhile speaking at a public gathering at Fazil Chowk in Gwader BNP’s leaders Akhtar Mengal, advocate Habil Jalib, Dr Jhanzeb, and Mr Rauf Mengal said that Baloch Nation should unite against the setting up of army garrisons in Balochistan. They said that their struggle was for self-determination which is according to UN charter. They said UN and international communities should help resolve Balochistan issue with being biasness. Balochistan’s wealth is being looted from last 60 years, they said. Baloch nation’s exploitation was taking place in the name of development. BNP leaders said that their party has been accused for opportunism. “When Nawab Bugti was killed we resigned from the government but it was said that we did so to score political goals”. “When we started the Lashkar-e-Balochistan movement government started a crackdown against our leadership and workers many of our leaders and workers have been arrested and detained for long time, during that time it was said that Akhtar Mengal will be released and elected as chief minister”. Baloch should unite for their self-determination they leaders said in their concluding remarks.

Akhtar Mengal was greeted by a huge crowd of BNP activists at Sarbander 25 kilometres from Gwader and was then taken to Gwader with a caravan of vehicles. Baloch students hoisted flag of independent Balochistan at the place of gathering while some student try to hoist Balochistan’s flag at stage that were stopped by Akhtar Mengal’s private body guards and the flag was lowered.

Only solution to Baloch national issue is Independence: Akhtar Mengal

Ormara: The caravan which set off from ormara will continue its journey until Baloch self-determination and Baloch National Liberation. Balochistan issue’s only solution is Independence, setting up a navy base in orama means the elimination of the people of ormara, BNP’s leaders Akhtar Mengal expressed these view while addressing a massive public rally in ormara town in Balochistan. Mr Mengal said that Pakistani citizenship is an insult for Baloch people, now is the century of independence and Baloch should united and work for freedom of their motherland and get rid of Punjabi slavery imposed on Baloch Nation.

BNP (M) leader Akhtar Mengal, general secretary and ex-senator Mr Habib Jalib, ex-MNA Mr Rauf Mengal, general secretary of BSO (M) Mr Javid Baloch and other were speaking at a public gathering in ormara town in Balochistan.

Speakers said that they were struggling against the Punjabi’s occupation of Baloch land. Punjabi rulers have pushed the Baloch against the wall. They said that Baloch were not even able to see the dead bodies or their leaders and loved one. Pakistan’s so called Islamic army have no respect and value for human rights. They said when Pakistan army run away from battle from field and left their dead soldiers behind in India. Their soldiers’ dead bodies were put in coffins and given back to Pakistan with respect and dignity. Whereas Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have abducted three Baloch political leaders, tortured them killed them in cold blood and dumped their bodies in a deserted area. Baloch leaders’ decomposed bodies were later found by locals. Yet Pakistan’s army and ISI claims to be vanguards of Islam. Where in Islam it says that bodies of people should be disrespected and dumped away? They questioned.

Speaking to the people of ormara Akhrar Mengal said that he visited Ormara first time in 1988 and now he was there after 20 years. Nothing has changed in the town; only change one can notice is that people of Ormara are under siege. The cemetery is decorated with the pictures of Mr Jinnah and a navy base is being set up to make the life miserable for people. Thousands of acres of land have been allotted to brigadiers, army generals, colonels and other non-Baloch hailing from different part of Pakistan.

He said he was not there for an election campaign but he was out to ask for peoples’ help to give a final push to the weaken wall (Pakistan) which is about to fall anyway, yet it needs a little push and Baloch people united can topple this wall for ever. He said that “we have examined pakistan’s police, army, judiciary, bureaucracy and parliament but none of these are beneficial for Baloch people”.

Referring to United Nations Mr Mengal said that they should come to the aid of Balochistan. International community should help the Baluch to get rid of the forced occupation of their land. He said if the UN cannot help the Baluch to get their self-determination then they should remove the chapter of self-determination (which guarantees the protection of the of oppressed Nations’ rights) from the UN charter.

He said when Nawaz Sharif revolted against the government and started a long March toward Islamabad every Punjabi police, doctor, labour, lawyer, student, social worker – hence people from all spheres of life joined his long March and forced the government to fulfil their demands. Same manner the Baloch Nation should show unity and work for National liberation of Balochistan.

In his message to the administration of government schools and Colleges Mr Meerak said that they should avoid lowering Balochistan’s flag and let the students sing Balochistan’s National anthem, otherwise reaction from Baloch resistance organisations will be a natural act.
