The Baloch Insurgency
From the very existence of Pakistan, Balochistan has been ignored and treated as a foster child. This was the attitude of the previous British rulers, and it is the same adopted by our present masters who are in no way different from the previous rulers. The last ruler of the Kalat state, Khan Ahmedyar Khan, was militarily attacked because he wanted to utilise his right of option according to the state’s agreement with the British government at the time of partition whereby a choice was given to the princely states of undivided India either to join India or Pakistan or be independent. The Khan of Kalat chose to be independent. Almost half of his state was forcefully plucked away from him, and a new state of Makran was carved out of it, with a Gichki sardar elevated to a state ruler. Legally, technically and constitutionally he was within his right to choose the option.
As far as Pakistan was concerned, it was quite understandable that after the creation of Pakistan it would not have been in their interest to have an independent state of Kalat in Balochistan within the overall boundaries of Pakistan; but was violence the right way to solve the problem? Could reason, negotiation and diplomacy not be used? Dissatisfaction has reached a level that today the youth are so agitated that they do not even allow the national anthem to be sung in schools.
Insensitive violence and injustice were perpetrated on the people of East Pakistan in the past, and the result was that we lost half of the country due to our government’s heedless and incautious adventures. Do we intend to repeat that history with another province? It is not the Baloch who seek to be the secessionists; it is the inequitable, unjust, improper and rash actions of the government authorities against them that have reluctantly made them to ponder in this direction. All that the Baloch want is justice. They want all their kidnapped men and women to be expeditiously recovered. They want all their political prisoners against whom no cases are pending to be released. They want fair and reasonable control over their mineral and sea resources. They want infrastructure to be constructed all over the province to be able to invite foreign investment to develop their resources and provide jobs for them. They want the armed forces to be withdrawn from Sui and other areas of Balochistan. They want that all the major projects that are initiated or planned for the near future should be done so with their consultation. And they want a due share in all provincial and federal government jobs. Who then is being unreasonable? The Baloch or the government/state?

HRCP for freedom of expression in Balochistan
HE Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Friday urged the government to respect press freedom in Balochistan.
A statement issued by the HRCP said: “The Commission is alarmed at reports of Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel laying siege to Quetta offices of at least two newspapers. On August 18, Urdu daily Asaap announced suspension of its publication after security forces cordoned of its Quetta office for two weeks and all visitors and employees were frisked, questioned and humiliated.
FC personnel have now been deployed outside the offices of Urdu daily Aazdi and nobody is allowed in without submitting to a search and questioning.
Journalists in Balochistan face numerous security threats and this makes their work even harder.
Even prior to security forces’ clampdown, these newspapers were being victimised and Asaap - one of the widely-circulated Urdu newspaper in Balochistan - had been denied government advertisements for a number of years.

Strike across Balochistan on Bugti’s death anniversary
QUETTA: A shutter down and wheel jam strike is being observed in many parts of Balochistan on the third death anniversary of late Baloch politician Nawab Abkar Khan Bugti. The call for the strike had been given by Baloch nationalist parties.
Sources say the strike is being observed in Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Kharan, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, Sibi, Sui and many other towns and cities of the province. All the main shopping malls, markets and trading centres are closed in these cities and towns while traffic is also nominal.
Baloch nationalist parties are also observing the day as black day. They have hoisted black flags at their offices and houses to condemn the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.
Security has been beefed up on this occasion across the province to avert any untoward incident. In the provincial capital about 5000 officials of police, Balochistan Constabulary and Anti Terrorist Force besides a large number of Frontier Corps personnel have been deployed.
Quetta and other parts of the province also witnessed several incidents of violence on Tuesday evening in connection with Nawab Bugti’s death in which at least two persons were killed and over a dozen were wounded. —DawnNews

FC besieges 2 newspapers’ offices in Quetta
By Malik Siraj Akbar
QUETTA: After forcing an anti-government newspaper in Quetta to close down earlier this week, the Frontier Corps (FC) on Friday besieged the offices of two more newspapers.
The office of the FC claimed they wanted to “interrogate the newspapers’ staff for security reasons”. The offices of English newspaper Daily Balochistan Express and Urdu paper Daily Azadi, both published by Siddique Baloch, were placed under surveillance for several hours on Friday morning.
“FC personnel were deployed outside the offices for several hours. They detained three of our staffers as they were on their way to work,” Asif Baloch, the editor of Daily Azadi, told Daily Times.
He said the deployment of FC personnel clearly indicated that officials planned to harass journalists working for the two newspapers. “Our staff members were held by the FC for several hours and interrogated unnecessarily. We believe the forces that forced Asaap newspaper to shut down have now been told to shut us down,” Asif Baloch said.

Pakistan government has banned Asaap Newspaper in Balochistan
Quetta: “Pakistani government has sent FC to surround the office of Daily Asaap on Seryaib road Quetta that is why the today’s Asaap could not be published” An announcement by Daily Asaap said.
The Pakistani government’s aim of closing down Daily Asaap is; because of its [Assap's] love to Balochistan and its loyalty to Baloch people. As soon as the new so called democratic government came to power they started to pressurise the reporters, writer and journalists from Daily Asaap’s team to stop working for the news paper. It was during these time when Asaap’s editor and Baloch writer Jan Mohammad Dashti was attacked and critically injured in Quetta.
After the assassination attempt on Mr Dashti the Pakistani government started a campaign of pressurising all other members of Daily Asaap team. Despite all these pressure tactics they have failed to close down the newspaper. Eventually, they sent FC to raid and surround the Daily Asaap’s office on Seryaib road in Quetta and stop the staff from entering the office.
But the team of Assap is adamant to continue their work they say that even if they are stopped from publishing their newspaper they will continue to publish the newspaper online. The online publication of Asaap will resume working in few days.
Pakistan Iran unites in an operation against Baloch nation.
According to reports received by Sagaar, there is an operation going on in Awaman (Tump), where Pakistani and Iranian forces have joined hands to quell the ongoing Baloch movement for Independence. Gunship helicopters are being used and heavy artillery is targeting the unarmed civilians in the area. A complete shutter down strike is being observed in the adjacent areas of Awaman, including Turbat and Mand. The local people are on roads and protesting against Iran and Pakistan. Sagaar had not yet received any casualty report though, as the conditions are being told by the local people casualties are expected.
This must be taken into consideration that Baloch pro independence nationalist organizations have been predicting such an attack on the civilians from quite a time and it seems to have started from Awaman where the notorious countries of Pakistan and Iran are using heavy weaponry against the unarmed local people.
Baloch Students Organization Azaad and Baloch nation appeals the international organizations to immediately stop the mass killings done by Iran and Pakistan and appeals United Nations to immediately interfere in Balochistan to stop further innocent casualties in Balochistan. Baloch people have been victims of Iranian and Pakistani Butchery and this is not the first instance that Iran and Pakistan have joined hands to crush the Baloch movement and snatch their hopes for freedom, but international silence have made them continue their barbarism. Freedom and peace loving people must not feel shy in exposing the atrocities done by both the countries and they must immediately act to prevent further civilian live losses.

Comment by Malik Siraj Akbar
My recent article, A Home Grown Conflict, was published in the Times of India on August 11, 2009. In this write-up I have argued that the Balochistan conflict is a purely indigenous one rather than being ignited by India.
While the article was widely appreciated by Balochs and the supporters of the Baloch cause across Pakistan and abroad, a section of ultra-nationalist Punjabi chauvinists in Pakistan has initiated a massive abusive and threatening campaign against me.
This group of people, which regrettably, but understandably, includes several journalists as well. They insist I have committed “sedition” and proved to be an “India agent” by speaking ‘against Pakistan’ in an Indian newspaper. They are demanding that Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) should condemn the article and constitute a legal action committee against me.
Some others are endeavoring to reach my editor to get me fired me from my job
In addition, the article has brought me a lot of abusive and threatening phone calls and e-mails.

Appeal: Urge The Iranian Government To Release Baloch Teachers
SarawanFifteen Baloch teachers have been arrested in the Balochistan cities Sarawan and Zahidan in Iran
Twenty two Baloch teachers have been arrested in the Balochistan cities Sarawan and Zahidan in Iran. After their arrest on 11th and 12th August 2009, the teachers were transferred to unknown locations. Since then their families have been denied any information about the detainees. Furthermore, the families have been harrassed, threatened to be detained and asked to keep silent about the arrest of their loved ones.
The “Organization of Human Rights Activists of Iran” has indintified some of the arrested teachres from Sarawan as Mr Behrooz Bahorzahi son of Pir Bakhsh, teacher of the “12 Urdibahesht School” , Mr Ali Reza Chakari son of Shahdad, deputy-principal at the Bagher Khan School, Mr Hamid Reza Chakari Son of Shahdad, Mr Abdul Rahman Rawanbakhsh, an IT engineer.
On the 13 the regimes security forcess attacked home of 7 more teachers in the city of Zahidan and arrested them some have been identified by, “Organization of Human Rights Activists of Iran”, as Mohmmad Saleh Eslamzahi son of Atah Mohammad and his 17 years old son Mehdi Islamzahi, and Alim Jangizahi Teacher in the Bagher Khan School
Denying access to information and prohibiting the families to visit them and also threatning them to keep silent indicate that they are under psychological pressure and being tortured physically. Judging from the recent arrests and executions by the Iranian regime in Balochistan it is certain that these teachesr will also be forced to confess and then will be convicted without having access to lawyers and behind closed court rooms. In the past, the regime has arrested and convicted political opponents under the false charges of drug trafficking or rebellion against the state.
Balochistan Peoples Party (BPP) is seriously concerned about the life and health of these teachers. We therefore urge the international community, the human rights organizations and democratic governments to put pressure on Iranian authorities to release the arrested teachers.

Government Claims And A Black Day
Pakistan celebrated 62nd Independence day.The biggest ceremony was held at capital city of Islamabad, where PM Gilani was very much happy in a big gathering of patriot pakistani's.All day national songs played and chanted slogan's like Long Live Pakistan. One more reason of happiness shown on the faces of Pakistani leaders, they saw Pakistani flags back in Sawat & Malakand.Independence rallies held in cities of Punjab,Sindh and NWFP.
But the celebrations in Baluchistan disappeared,no flags,un-heared anthem,no public gatherings or rallies. It's a big slap on pakistani rulers ,who are most of the time bussy in anti baloch propoganda. They should now stop raising their fingers on exile Baluch Leaders. On a single call of exile leaders entire nation marked 14th august as a black day in throughout Baluchistan,Karachi, gulf countries and europe.Baluchistan was all silent;all celebrations were limited to Cantonments but unseen. The only ceremony was held by Chief Minister at quetta, but unfinished by a miracle from God or tention of being hit from any fired rocket of freedom fighters.CM fainted by the highblood pressure or shocked of being lonely in 10 million Baluch Population.
Baluch student wing (Azad),patriot political parties organised mass rallies in Karachi and Baluchistan against the worse day of calender.Everywhere black flags shown, pakistani flags removed from buildings, afterwards being burnt by patriot Baluch youth and chanted slogans like''death to pakistan''.This extreme level of anger against the un-natural state is a refrendum of Baluch nation, that we are different nation; possess our own land, language and culture;we dont want to live under any other flag than Baluchistan.
Pakistani rulers should understand from the straight and clear message of the Baluch nation that we are united and organised under the guidance of our exile leaders.Government should stop showing puppets as our leaders ; if they were our leaders & real representatives of Baluchistan so independence day celebrations were not replaced by a ''Black Day''.

The Evil Day, 14th August
Baloch nation see’s 14th august as a sinister day, which gave birth to the imperialist’s brain child, Pakistan. A country who has not only been involved in the genocide of innocent Baloch people but also in creating a fear among the people around the world, and have caused a lot of lives including those in sub continent cheated on the name of religion. Pakistan has caused the lives of Palestinians to Americans, Indians to Afghans, Balochs to Russians, in fact if nations affected by Pakistan is listed down, this place won’t be spacious enough. Pakistan has not only been responsible for hundreds and thousands of deaths around the world but has also been responsible for the attacks on religious monuments such as Kaa’ba, the most prestigious place for Muslims, Hindu Manders and the Christian minorities, where as in Pakistan children are mentally prepared to fight the Jews, who are thought to be the ultimate enemy of “Pakistan”.
14th August is being regarded by the Baloch people as a Black Day, which has brought a message of insecurity for them and as stated before, for the entire world. Pakistan with in its creation’s first year attacked Balochistan and occupied it, through deceiving the world it has succeeded in keeping its occupation and looting the Baloch resources side by side with a process of a slow genocide, which has caused several innocent civilian lives. Balochistan , then Kalat State, was formed on 11th of August 1947 and was accepted as a separate entity by different countries including Pakistan itself, but Pakistan didn’t gave any regard to that nor to the international laws, neither the international organizations could stop this occupation, similar to the case of Tibet’s occupation of China. From then onwards Pakistan has proved to be a barbaric occupier, killing and torturing hundreds and thousands of Balochs, deceiving whole of the Baloch nation on several occasions.
With thousands of sons, daughters, mothers and elders abducted by Pakistan, thousand others martyred, Baloch people have regarded the day of the “invention” of an un-natural state as a Black Day, which has been responsible for snatching their identity, plundering their resources, crushing their culture and massacring their sons, elders, children and women.
Pakistan has used every available weapon against the Baloch nation, including chemical, atomic and the weapons of hunger, defrauding, fear, inaccessibility to education, non Baloch mass migration, snatching separate identity, immense torture, and degradation, in fact the international declaration of human rights have been ripped apart by Pakistan.
Baloch case and cause are different and immense from the atrocities done by Pakistan on the other nations such as Sindhis and Pashtuns, as Balochistan was annexed by force. Still Baloch Students Organization Azaad and Baloch people, under the flag of Independent Balochistan sympathize with all the nations of the world been and being affected with the presence of Pakistan, and appeals the indigenous people of the Earth to help Baloch people to gain their independence for Pakistan, which would be a beginning of a new and peaceful world and appeals the peace loving people around the World to regard 14th August as a Black Day against the security risk of the world named as Pakistan.

Balochistan celebrates I-Day in London, praises India
London: In an act of defiance, Balochistan celebrated its Independence Day in London three days before Pakistan’s official Independence Day. The mention of Balochistan in the Indo-Pak joint statement may have caused a political storm in India but for the Baloch community it has been a blessing in disguise. They say it helped in internationalising the issue. “International community is taking interest now. For last 60 years it was ignored, now they can see that Baloch can play a key role in the area,” says a Baloch leader, Hyrbyair Marri. On Tuesday, leaders of the Baloch community gathered in London to mark their Independence Day. They say Balochistan became an independent, sovereign state on August 11, 1947 but was later forcibly annexed by Pakistan. They have now formed a Council for Independent Balochistan to unite various separatist groups. “All the independent parties can become members,” says The Khan of Kalat, Suleman Dawood Khan. The Baloch say that the Punjabi dominated government of Pakistan and the army have exploited the region and its people without sharing any of the benefits. The unrest in Balochistan has been a thorny issue for Pakistan, which has accused India of inciting the insurgency, a claim which denied by the Baloch themselves. “If we would have got funds from India, I think the army would have cried. We haven't received anything. They are accusing India because they themselves are involved,” says The Khan of Kalat, Suleman Dawood Khan. The Baloch say they are willing to negotiate with Pakistan only if the United Nations and European Union intervene.

Baloch leader announces formation of council
A leading Baloch nationalist leader has announced the formation of a "council for independent Balochistan" and rejected any reconciliation with the Pakistan government without the mediation of the European Union and the United Nations.
Mir Suleman Dawood, the head of the erstwhile ruling family of the former princely state of Kalat which is now part of Balochistan province, told reporters on phone from London on Tuesday that the council will "ensure the creation of an independent state of Balochistan".
He said the "Baloch had lost trust in Pakistani rulers". However, if the European Union and the UN mediated, negotiations could be held with the Pakistan government, he said.
Baloch separatist forces of Pakistan and Iran will have representation in the council for independent Balochistan, Dawood claimed. He said the names of members of the council will be announced later.

A Home-grown Conflict
When the first Baloch insurgency broke out in 1948 to resist the illegal and forceful annexation of the Baloch-populated autonomous Kalat state
with Pakistan, Manmohan Singh - today Indian prime minister - was barely a teenager while his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani had not even been born to witness the rebellion's magnitude. Yet, last month, both leaders in Sharm el-Sheikh discussed for the first time the indefatigable Baloch insurgency.
Pakistan has been blaming India for causing trouble in its resource-rich province. Gilani broached the issue with India at a time disgruntled Baloch youth have removed the Pakistani flag from schools and colleges and stopped playing the national anthem. Punjabi officers refuse to serve in Balochistan, fearing they would be target-killed. Islamabad attributes the unrest to 'foreign involvement'. India is not the first to be blamed. Similar allegations were levelled in the past against the now defunct Soviet Union, Afghanistan and Iraq to discredit the indigenous movement for retaining a distinct Baloch identity. Indian assistance sounds ridiculous given that the Baloch do not share a border, common language, religion or history with India. Hardly has 1 per cent of Balochs have visited India.
The idea of Pakistan never attracted the secular Baloch. Ghose Baksh Bizanjo, a Baloch leader, said in 1947: "It is not necessary that by virtue of our being Muslims we should lose our freedom... If the mere fact that we are Muslims requires us to join Pakistan, then Afghanistan and Iran... should also amalgamate with Pakistan."
Over the years, Islamabad has applied a multi-pronged approach to deal with Balochista Apart from military operations launched in 1948, 1958, 1962, 1973 and 2002 to quash the rebellion, Islamabad adopted other tactics. First, it kept the province economically backward by denying it good infrastructure, mainly in education and health. Natural gas was discovered in Balochistan in 1951 and supplied to Punjab's industrial units. The Balochs hardly benefit from their own gas.
Second, Balochs, whom the state views as traitors, were denied representation in the army, foreign services, federal departments, profitable corporations, Pakistan International Airlines, customs, railways and other key institutions. Third, Balochistan has historically been remote-controlled from Islamabad. A Pakistan army corps commander, often a Punjabi or a Pathan, and the inspector general of the Frontier Corps, a federal paramilitary force with less than 2 per cent Baloch representation, exert more power than the province's elected chief minister. The intelligence agencies devise election plans and decide who has to come to the provincial parliament and who should be ousted.
Fourth, Islamabad has created a state of terror inside Balochistan. Hundreds of check posts have been established to harass people and restrict their movement. Forces and tanks are stationed even on campuses of universities. Fifth, national and international media are denied access to conflict zones in Balochistan. Several foreign journalists were beaten up supposedly by intelligence agencies personnel or deported when they endeavoured to report the actual situation. Sixth, international human rights organisations are denied access to trace the whereabouts of some 5,000 'missing persons'. Pakistan is also in a state of denial about the existence of around 2,00,000 internally displaced persons in Balochistan.
Seventh, Islamabad has been engaged in systematic target killing of key Baloch democratic leaders. Ex-governor and chief minister of Balochistan, Nawab Akbar Bugti, 79, became a victim once he demanded Baloch rights. Balach Marri, a Balochistan Assembly member, was killed to undermine the movement. In April this year, three other prominent leaders were whisked away by security forces and subsequently killed.
Eighth, Pakistan has pitted radical Taliban against secular and democratic Baloch forces. The state is brazenly funding thousands of religious schools across the province with the help of Arab countries to promote religious radicalisation. Elements supportive of Taliban were covertly helped by state institutions to contest and win general elections. They now enjoy sizeable representation in the Balochistan Assembly to legislate against the nationalists and secular forces.
Ninth, Islamabad has been using sophisticated American weapons, provided to crush Taliban, against the Baloch people. This has provided breathing space to Taliban hidden in Quetta and weeded out progressive elements. Finally, Afghan refugees are being patronised to create a demographic imbalance in the Baloch-dominated province.
Baloch leaders are critical of many democratic countries for not doing 'enough' to safeguard a democratic, secular Baloch people. I asked Bramdagh Bugti, a Baloch commander, about the India link. He laughed and said, "Would our people live amid such miserable conditions if we enjoyed support from India? We are an oppressed people... seeking help from India, the United States, the United Nations and the European Union to come for our rescue."
The Baloch movement is rapidly trickling down from tribal chiefs to educated middle-class youth aggressively propagating their cause on Facebook and YouTube. This generation would understandably welcome foreign assistance but will not give up even if denied help from countries like India. The Baloch insist their struggle was not interrupted even at times when India and Pakistan enjoyed cordial relations.

with Pakistan, Manmohan Singh - today Indian prime minister - was barely a teenager while his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani had not even been born to witness the rebellion's magnitude.
Unforgotten Independence Day
The unknown country once was a colony of Britain ; compromises the area of 347,190 km² & 900 km long coastline declared as an independent country on 11th august 1947 known as Baluchistan. The new ray of hope for a better future came in the life of Baluch nation. But unfortunately after a 7 months of short period of time once again Baluch nation lost their status of independence as Pakistan invaded the Baluchistan on 27th march 1948 and forcibly merged.
Baluch never accepted the merger of Baluchistan with Pakistan from the first day.The
Baluch rebels headed towards the mountains took the positions and started the first Guerrilla fight for the freedom against the pakistani regime. The Baluch freedom fighters warned the occupied army that your pakistani flag does not belong to Baluchistan. But the wicked rulers of pakistan always used the religion islam as a tool to achieve the objective.Pakistani government asked freedom fighters come down to the mountains for negotiations but as a result government arrested most of them ,few kept behind the bars for life and many of them executed.
Afterwards Pakistani government started the method of British ''divide&rule policy''.They had
bought a group of greedy people, who started work within the Pakistani constitution and showed all of them as a real leader of Baluchistan. They made every illegal action legal through such traitors of Baluchistan. They tried to show the world that Baluch are now very much accommodated in the Pakistani system, they have accepted the Pakistan as their homeland. But during that all period occupiers forgot the guerrilla fighters who are now once again organised in a better way with the latest weapon to resist the occupied army. This time freedom fighters are not limited to camps in mountain, they headed down to the towns and streets of Baluchistan.Pakistani army and their informers are not feeling secure in the presence of freedom fighters.Freedom fighters easily targeting the army vehicles, checkposts, cantonments in the day light.Security personels insisting for transfers out of Baluchistan.Pakistani flag & anthem disappeared from the government buildings schools,universities,police-stations.So called Pakistani flag replaced by Baluchistan national flag in all schools, universities student started singing the Baloch national anthem.
Baluch national movement for independence purely supported by baluch masses in Baluchistan.Baluch student organisation & baluch nationalist parties organising the mass rallies, protest in the favour of freedom fighters.Pakistani regime disappearing the student activist, political leadership, human right campaigners, brutally torturing them in the military torture cells, threatning them to stop the demand for freedom. But salute to brave sons of balochistan who are not caring the life threats but happily accepting the martyrdom for the holy cause.
Baluch patriot parties,Baluch student organisation and Baluch liberation wings appealed the entire nation to be ready for the celebrations of independence day on 11th august.Baluch freedom fighters recent courageous statement is the new hope for the nation, that they are ready for the final combat and Pakistani forces should be ready to face the worse.Baluchistan independence will be declared on the same day.
After passing sixty years of occupation baluch nation possess same spirit and courage on 11th august the day of Baluchistan independence, while every year 14th august marked as a black day in Baluchistan; now its the duty of United Nation should immediately consider the ground realities of Baluchistan and solve the baluch national question for independence.

Baloch political activist Mr Ehsan Arjumandi arrested at Uthal check point
Karachi: Ehsan Arjumandi Baluch a Norwegian citizen recently went to Baluchistan to visit his friends and family. Sources close to Mr Arjumandi reported his family live in both Karachi and Baluchistan. He was traveling from Mand town in Balochistan to Karachi. The bus he was traveling in, was stopped at Uthal check point (also known as zero point) where ‘according to eyes witnesses’ two cars without number plates were already waiting for him. Four men in plain clothes got on the bus and asked Mr Arjumandi to go with them. “As soon as Ehsan Baluch got off the bus a black hood was put on his head and driven towards an unknown location”. Said he eyes witnesses.
It is obvious that he has been abducted by the Pakistani intelligence agencies. Similar cars and officials in plain clothes were involved in all previous abduction of Baloch activists. Mr Baluch’s friend and family reported to have contacted the Norwegian government and sought the their help to put pressure on Pakistan for his early and safe release and return.
Mr Anwar Baloch of Baloch Unity conference from Karachi and other Baloch leaders from Baluchistan expressed grave concerned about the abduction of Mr Ehsan Arnumandi Baloch.
The deployment of Para-military in Balochistan, What is Pakistan trying to prove?
Pakistan has deployed thousands of Para-military, military and other so called security forces in different region in Balochistan in the name of restoring law and order situation and for the protection of what they call “National Installations”. These are Baluchistan’s National Installations not Pakistan’s, so who has invited Pakistan to come and protect them? Protecting them from whom?
The feelings of people in Balochistan about the deployment of army are totally different they believe the army is there to strengthen the hold on Balochistan land, to further the occupation. Reports from the ground suggest that the Para-military and army are arresting anyone who wears a Balochi Dress. Young Baloch men are being humiliated by the army in the middle of roads in public. Several young men even complained that they were stop and asked to speak Punjabi. The forces there know that Punjabi is not the language of Balochistan but why would they still ask our young men to speak it?
According to a BBC Urdu people from most areas in Balochistan have boycotted by Pakistani flag and students have refused to sing the Pakistani National anthem. Perhaps that is why this year the government and Pakistani army has decided to celebrate the 14 August in a different way “
The Balochistan Provincial Capitol City of Quetta was sprucing up for some of the most tumultuous Independence Day celebrations, ever on 14th Aug.
“The entire City would be lit up with bright lights, and prizes would be distributed among the best, with heavy cash prize of Rs.20, 000 for the top, Rs.15000 for second and Rs.10, 000 for third position holders. A grand display of fireworks would be held on the day, with even mountaintops being decorated with visible colored lights”.

Independence Day of Balochistan

The detainees are often tortured and coerced to confess crimes that they did not commit.
The protest is also aimed to remind the International Community about enslaved Baloch Nation that once holding an Independent sovereign state of Balochistan (on 11 August 1947) is now under forced and illegal occupation of foreign forces such as Iranian and Pakistani armies.

Baloch crackdown after statement-Pakistan accused of torturing students and extracting confession of Indian hand
Washington, Aug. 4: For the babus in South Block, the inclusion of Balochistan in the India-Pakistan joint statement is no more than a case of “bad drafting”, but in the restive province on the other side of the border, Balochis are paying with their lives and limbs for the foibles of Indian diplomats who were in Sharm-el-Sheikh.
The Pakistani establishment, crowing in vindication about its line on Balochistan following the joint statement, is heavily stepping up the crackdown on the people in the province, vowing to stamp out not only any traces of secession but even of dissent and legitimate assertion of time-honoured Baloch identity.
Within 48 hours of the release of the joint statement in Sharm-el-Sheikh, the Frontier Constabulary in Quetta abducted Sami Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Student Organisation, while the postgraduate student of Balochistan University was returning from tuition at night.
“His whereabouts are still unknown and it is feared that he is undergoing torture in a Pakistani army camp,” according to a statement by the Asian Human Rights Commission based in Hong Kong.
In another case which is attracting international attention — while India is wrestling with the semantics of the joint statement — Fazal Baloch, a 19-year-old student at Bolan University, was pulled off a bus by plainclothes intelligence officers in Panjgur district of Balochistan, tortured and then formally handed over to the crime branch of the Anti-Terrorist Force in Quetta.
Fazal told his family when he was eventually dumped in a hospital that he was forced to confess under torture that he was aware of India funding an outfit in Balochistan known as the Baloch Liberation Army.
The Hong Kong-based commission said in its statement that “nationalist groups and family members of the disappeared persons say that the Pakistani government is arresting students and young people with the aim to get confessions from them for alleged statements against India for its involvement in Balochistan’s insurgency.”
It added: “The Asian Human Rights Commission urges the government of Pakistan, especially the Balochistan province, to stop the arrest of students and young people and the keeping of them in incommunicado.”
In addition to illegal detentions, abduction and torture, Pakistan’s government is now using new ways in the wake of the joint statement to shut down legitimate outlets for Balochi opinion.
For example, Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) a few days ago used that country’s draconian Cyber Crime Act to shut down a popular Balochi website, www.balochunity.org.
But as of Sunday, its promoters used facilities in Dubai to revive the website, dissident Balochistan sources told this newspaper.
Pakistan’s Cyber Crime Act prescribes a punishment of up to 14 years in prison for propaganda against Pakistan’s security forces, a tool that is expected to be used to tighten efforts to silence Balochis.
Pakistani sources here have been claiming that Islamabad will now use the joint statement to pressure the US to act against American companies which host legitimate Balochi websites that propagate the history, culture and heritage of the province on the ground that these are part of the cross-border terrorist architecture in Balochistan, funded by India.
Hyrbair Marri, a nationalist leader from Balochistan now living in exile in the UK, pointedly told a recent meeting in the House of Lords organised at the instance of Bri- tain’s Campaign Against Criminalising Communities that Balochistan’s history “pre-dates the formation of Pakistan. We have a history reaching back thousands of years.”
He pointed out that contrary to what Pakistan was now doing in the province, “during the British Raj, Britain... did not interfere in the affairs of Balochistan so long as the Baloch allowed the British Army access to Afghanistan.”
On Sunday, a complete strike was observed in most of Balochistan to protest against the wave of arrests of Baloch leaders in the wake of the Sharm-el-Sheikh joint statement.
Reporting on the strike, a popular nationalist website in exile, balochwarna.com, alleged: “After registration of the accusation against India, the authorities started a new round of arrests with disappearances to get confessions through statements made against India.”

Another lie of Rehman Malik exposed
Afghanistan rejects admission of terror camps
Sun, 02 Aug 2009
Afghanistan denies reports that President Hamed Karzai had admitted that his country was home to "terrorist" camps that operate against Pakistan.
Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik said last week that Kabul had admitted that the separatist Baloch youths are being trained on Afghan soil to carry out terrorist attacks inside Pakistan and that President Karzai had promised to take action against these training grounds.
"This is absolutely not true. This is baseless," Afghan Interior Minister Hanif Atmar told a press conference on Sunday adding that after the Pakistani minister expressed Islamabad's deep concerns over the deteriorating security condition in the region, the president had pledged "firm action" against threats to Pakistan from Afghanistan should he receive evidence.
The Afghan minister also rejected his Pakistani counterpart's reported claim that 90 percent of militants arrested in Pakistan were of Afghan origin, saying Kabul had "strong evidence that Afghan as well as Pakistani, Central Asian and Al-Qaeda-linked militants of various nationalities were operating from safe havens across the border."
London: protest and meeting on 11 August 2009
11 August – Balochistan Independence Day
(Protest and Meeting in London)
Three days before Pakistan’s secession from India. Balochistan was already declared an independent state. The independence of Balochistan was recognised by the management of the upcoming Pakistan through an announcement from Dehli on 11 August 1947.
On 12 August 1947 the New York Times published Pakistan's announcement which read: “Karachi, Aug, 11, 1947 [AP] – Among the congratulatory messages read to the Pakistan assembly today was one from United States Secretary of State George C. Marshall. An announcement from New Dehli said that Kalat, Moslem State in Balochistan, had reached an agreement with Pakistan for a free flow of communication and commerce, and would negotiate for decisions on defense, external affairs and communications. Under the agreement Pakistan recognizes Kalat as an independent, sovereign state with a status different from that of Indian states”. [The New York Times, Published: August 12, 1947, Copyright © The New York Times]
Within 24 hours of the declaration of Independence 1947, the Khan of Kalat formed Baluchistan’s House of Commons and the House of Lords. On 16th December 1947 Khan of Kalat called a meeting of both houses of Balochistan to discuss the possibility of joining Pakistan. All the members from both Houses had unanimously rejected the idea of joining Pakistan.
However the state of Pakistan invaded Balochistan on 27 March, 1948. The illegal and forceful occupation of Balochistan by the Pakistani army had resulted in killing of many workers and members of the Independent State of Balochistan and imprisonment of the Khan of Kalat and his family members in their palace. Deaths, destruction, torture, imprisonment of Baloch people and looting and plundering of their natural resources have been the outcome of this occupation since then. From that very moment the freedom loving Baloch people have been struggling against Pakistani occupation and in order to regain their lawful sovereign independent state. August 11 is Balochistan Independence Day and Baloch mark this day as the ‘National Day’ and they are adamant to celebrate it until such time when Balochistan is liberated from the foreign occupiers.
Earlier on the same day (11th of August 2009) there will be a protest in front of 10 Downing Street to highlight the ongoing Human Rights violations in Balochistan by both Iran and Pakistan. The protest is also meant to highlight the recent heinous acts of these states i.e. the mass abductions, arrest and humiliation of political and student activists and other innocent citizens in Pakistani occupied Balochistan and mass executions of Baloch political prisoners in Iranian occupied Balochistan. A petition will be handed over to the British prime minster at the end of the protest.

Operation expanded to different regions in Balochistan: BRP, Marri Itehad
Occupied Balochistan: The spokesmen of BRP and Injuman-e-Itehad-e-Marri said that the Pakistani paramilitary, FC and other security forces have expanded the military offensives to different region in Balochistan. Mr Faisal Bugti while speaking on behalf of BRP said that a recent report by BBC URDU Service has exposed all the lies of Pakistani authorities regarding Balochistan. He said the Pakistani government won’t get tired by repeating their lies that everything is OK in Balochistan but the report of Riaz Suhial (BBC urdu Reporter) exposed all their lies, infect the report is a slap on the face of so called democratic. He said the report says that Sui and Dera Bugti have been turned into an army state. There are check posts everywhere and peoples’ houses are tuned into heaps of rubles.
Mr Faisal Bugti further stated that the FC and other Pakistani security force have not come to Dera Bugti and Sui to protect the so called national installations but they are there to continue to commit the genocide of Baloch nation. He said that the Pakistani forces have started to snatch people Cash (money), mobile phones and even they are taking away locals people live stocks. “Is this how they protect peoples’ properties”? He asked.
He said it was a shame that in Punjab province the lawmakers and rest of the elite were distributing sweet to each other for the decision against 3rd November acts of Musharraf whereas in the neighboring region of Punjab their own so called law enforcement agencies were busy killing and looting innocent people in Dera Bugti and sui.
He said several gunship helicopters, tanks and heavily military have been deployed in many regions of Dera Bugti and Sui. In the Marov region the paramilitary forces of Pakistan have bombarded many houses (huts) and several sheep and goats have been killed due the bombardment by long range artillery and gunship helicopters. He termed the taking off the pictures of Shaheed Nawab Bugti and Balach Marri and Baloch National leaders Hyrbyair Marri and Brahumdagh Bugti as the failure and frustration of the Pakistani forces.
On the other hand Kohlu zone spokesman of Marri Itehad said we shall continue to help the Baluch Freedom fighters in every possible way. Pakistan is carrying out Baloch genocide and thousands of forces, gunship helicopters and tanks have been sent to Dera Bugti. He appealed from Baloch youth to continue to support the Baloch Sarmachaars so that the enemy forces’ evil designs can be defeated. He alleged that Pakistan was using American provided facilities against the secular people of Balochistan. He said that Dera Bugti is besieged from all sides and we need to help our brothers who have stood up against the brutal forces.
Meanwhile Rehan Marri said that if Kabul and Dehli were supporting Brahumdagh and Hyrbyari or Baloch Sarmachaars (freedom fighters) then Islamabad and Lahore assemblies would set on fire. He said these aforementioned Baloch National leaders have the full support and endorsement of Baloch Nation thus, they do not needed anyone else support. However if anyone (country) is willing to help us get rid of the illegal occupation of our land we will welcome their support. At the moment Baloch National Army is only being supported by the Baluch Nation. He said Jindullah (BPRM) was struggling for Independent Balochistan. The Iranian forces are committing genocide of Baloch people in Western occupied Balochistan. The silence of International powers proves that the oppressed have no one to support them unless they start to support themselves.
